There's quite a bit to cover in the current banking debacle ... how, why, who, and what to do.

First, I'd like to recommend a terrific 5-part investigation on this current "financial crisis" by BoomerJeff over at Liberty Works.  I'll also piece it together over a series of posts, but BoomerJeff covers topics I won't, and you'll want to know the whole story.  After all ... the mainstream media isn't going to tell you.

Why?  I don't know ... sometimes I think it's conspiratorial, but more often than not, I think it's because they're clueless.  Sure, they have an incredible knack at reading a teleprompter and talking in that "news" voice, but doesn't that mean they're ...

In an update to "Thinkpol Crackdown on Crimespeak", Missouri Governor Matt Blunt has issued a statement regarding the police state tactics of St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, Senator Barack Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill.

I previously floated the following question as one to ponder, but in light of Barack Obama's insistence on abusing our legal system for his exclusive personal gain, this has become a very important question that must be taken seriously.
If Obama demands criminal prosecution of free speech as a candidate, why wouldn't ...

Debate: McCain v. Obama Round One

theCL  2008-09-27  Election Campaign, Op-Ed  Comments Off

Some random thoughts on last nights debate.
1. BORING.  It picked up a little excitement about half-way in, but I didn't learn a thing about either candidate I didn't already know.
2. Both candidates appeared to be holding themselves back from sharper attacks.  I thought McCain did a good job staying calm, even though his cracking voice gave it away.  Obama however, looked like he was about to "lose it" a few times, clearly overwhelmed by the audacity of McCain's real world knowledge trumping his textbook views.
3. Obama's constant "uh, uh, uh ..." tells me he's either not quick on his feet, or doesn't believe in his own ideology.  Also, his ...

11/03/08: Due to technical reasons that are way beyond my comprehension, a portion of this post is missing and needs to be re-written.

The Constitution of the United States of America, Amendment I:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The evidence is clear.  The Democrat party FEARS FREE SPEECH!

Last month, I blogged about Democrats promoting a bill to limit free speech on radio.  FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell says this bill would easily provide ...

Reason Magazine is an excellent source for current political and economic commentary from the Libertarian perspective.  In my opinion, they do a great job of standing up for the libertarian principles our country was founded on, while being realistic about the politics of taking our country back.  A must read for people of all political stripes.

Making a Libertarian case against both Barack Obama and John McCain would be easy - even for a 5th grader, so on September 18 & 19 of this year, Reason Magazine published two articles making the Libertarian case for both McCain and Obama.  In writing the Libertarian case for McCain, each reason in favor of McCain/Palin was balanced with a caveat.  The Libertarian ...

The closer we get to an election, the more the rumors start flying.  There's an interesting rumor flying around, that in my estimation, everybody on the planet has received in the past week.

The rumor is ... around October 5, 2008, Joe Biden will drop out of the race citing personal health issues, and Hillary Clinton will cunningly (read Machiavellian) swoop in as the Democrat VP candidate to save the day!  The speculation is gaining steam ... allegedly, it's hard to find Obama/Biden merchandise at any of Obama's campaign headquarters.

This is the Chicago Political Machine going for a national election win, so who really knows?  Maybe he won't claim an illness, but ...

As everyone already knows, somebody hacked into Governor Sarah Palin's personal e-mail account and posted screen shots on the site 4chan.org.  Obviously this isn't something taken lightly, so both the FBI and Secret Service are investigating the case.

The hacker used a the proxy service Ctunnel.com, but the services owner Gabriel Ramuglia says the hacker left behind clues and he is happy to fully cooperate with the investigation. While there are numerous legitimate reasons to use a proxy service, this action is clearly in violation of both Ctunnels user agreement and the law.

Since this story broke, rumors have been circulating that the group "Anonymous" was involved.  Anonymous is most well known for ...
