... if I could get up in the morning.
Our next entry into the right-wing rock category is the awesome song by Aimee Allen, "I'd Start a Revolution (If I Could Get Up in the Morning)".

Not your typical pop artist or singer/songwriter, Aimee's eclectic music encompasses a wide range of musical styles - from heavy to soft, and everything in between.

What is Fractional Reserve Banking?

With a countless number of things on my mind concerning the $5-8 trillion in "bailouts" we taxpayers are getting forcedly burdened with, explaining fractional reserve banking was a topic I definitely wanted to write about.

Then ... while surfing the net aimlessly the other night, I came across the following video.

adam-smith-wealth-nationsModern liberals don't hesitate to trade individual liberties for the perceived benefits of whatever "cause du jour" they come up with.  In fact, they go out of their way to expand the power of the state, erode protections of our inalienable rights (such as property), abolish Christianity, and crown the government bureaucracy as appropriator of all rights and privileges.  In other words ... totalitarianism.

That, my friends, is what a classic liberal is not.

Up until the turn of the twentieth century, classical liberalism was the predominate political philosophy in America ... though it wasn't known as classical liberalism, it was simply called liberalism.

It may seem surprising, but the original "liberals" were people who actually DID believe in freedom!

Man, I "just wasn't feelin' it" ... the "feng shui" wasn't right ... whatever it was ... I've moved the furniture around and cleaned up the place ... so make yourself at home!

OK ... let's talk a little bit about this blog.  A short time ago, I posed the question, "what does it mean to be “conservative?”

Set to everybody's favorite gunslinger music:

Gambling Our FutureWe continue to hear the knee-jerk reactions of blaming the "unfettered free markets" for our current economic situation.  We've also been told that social security must NOT be privatized, because investing in bonds, mortgage-backed securities, and gasp ... the stock market (via diversified mutual funds) ... is just TOO RISKY!

But has anyone stopped to think about the "unfettered" bailouts, impulsive regulations, and short-sighted policies of the government?

The Obama-Blago Scandal

At first glance, it looks like Obama's "chickensssss ... are coming home to roost!"

Doesn't it?

I must admit, I haven't dug into it deeply.  I will.  And I've read quite a lot ... there are just more important things on my mind in general, and in terms of this blog.

Obviously, this is only the beginning, the tip-of-the-iceberg ... because news isn't released (or even leaked for the most part) out of an investigation, until they know it won't blow the rest of their case.

There IS a valuable lesson in this for us all! A valuable lesson for Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians, Anarcho-capitalists, Anarchists, Socialists, Marxists, Maoists ... like I said ... EVERYBODY!

Yes, everyone.  Including all of you who already "know."

As I'm sure you're all aware by now, the Supreme Court declined to hear an emergency appeal regarding President-elect Barack Obama's Constitutional-eligibility.  From the Washington Post:

The Supreme Court this morning unceremoniously declined to hear an emergency appeal from a man who claimed President-elect Barack Obama is not qualified for the presidency because he is not a "natural-born" citizen.

The court without comment declined to hear "Donofrio v. Wells," a suit that had attempted to keep Obama off the New Jersey ballot. Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick had claimed Obama had dual nationality at birth, because of his Kansas-born mother and his Kenyan-born father, who was a British subject at
