"It's the end of the world as we know it." - R.E.M. But I'm not so sure "I feel fine" ...

1. As I'm sure you're already aware, a recent report from the U.S. Joint Forces Command says that Mexico is at risk of a "rapid and sudden collapse." Why? Because the Mexican government is "under sustained assault and pressure" from drug cartels and gangs.

2. State lawmakers in Texas, well aware of their neighbors volatility, are busy working out a plan for just such an occasion.

Lawmakers expressed concern that the state's southern neighbor, embroiled in drug violence and facing uncertain economic conditions, could send thousands north in search of safety.

3. Mexico City, Mexico has been crowned the "Kidnapping Capital of the World!" Do you know which city comes in at #2?  Remember now, this is the entire world we're talking about ... And the answer is ... Phoenix, AZ! Scary, I know.

OK ... with all that as the background, just wait until you hear about the immigration legislation trying to get pushed through Congress!

public-art-program-dcOver the last few days, I've written a handful of posts, but decided not to publish any of them. Why? Quite frankly ... I'm overwhelmed by the the sheer volume of madness coming out of Washington, and too angry to discuss it.

My blood is boiling!

Late last Thursday, I was reading a post titled, "President Doom's Stimulus Hoax" on Liberty Works, talking about the blatant fear-mongering spewing out of Washington these days. The question is then asked:

... with such supposed high stakes, why do we have the pure politics and blatant pork spending in both the House and Senate bills? If things are so dire, isn't there a responsibility to make every last dollar work to get a reasonable economic result?

You certainly would think there was a "responsibility to make every last dollar work." Wouldn't you?

Take a moment with me here ... step outside your political box, take a deep-breath, and participate in this simple, 2-question thought experiment.

Question #1:

In Michigan (for example), if you would like to cut my hair and have me pay you for doing so, you must first get "license."  To get this license, you have to:

Go to cosmetology school.
Complete 1500 hours of training and/or work 2 full years as an apprentice in a licensed establishment.
Apply for a license with the State of Michigan.
Take and pass Michigan's state board written and practical exams.

Since we require such high standards of people who simply wish to cut ...

The official explanation for the Crescent of Embrace design is that the path of Flight 93 breaks the circle, turning it into the giant crescent. They call it the Circle of Embrace now, but the Memorial Project’s own website acknowledges that the circle is still broken:

In summary, the memorial is shaped in a circular fashion, and the circle is symbolically "broken" or missing trees in two places, depicting the flight path of the plane, and the crash site...

The fact that the Circle of Embrace is really a broken circle means two things. First, it means that the giant crescent is still there. Architect Paul ...

As Ted "Theodore" Logan so eloquently says in one of my favorite movie quotes ...
"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K."

dead-fish-headLast September, American citizens were blind-sided by warnings of imminent financial doom ... that is, if the government didn't immediately step-in and spend trillions of taxpayer dollars.

Personally, I'm still wondering where the "proof" of this "crisis" is ...

Hey, I'm no "expert" ... I'm just a regular Joe ... but I was a stockbroker for over a decade prior to taking a senior position at a large national bank.  In other words ... I must have some idea of how the financial world works, right?

I bring this up, because I'm here to tell you ... something very fishy is going on in America right now.

The attacks on capitalism and freedom have hit an all-time high, and part of the problem seems to be - NOBODY IS WILLING TO STAND UP FOR CAPITALISM!

So in light of this, I'd like to start this post off with a 2 1/2 minute video of Milton Friedman being interviewed by Phil Donahue.  Maybe we should all email a copy of this to our representatives.

Over the past few months, many of my Online accounts have magically disappeared.  For example, Technorati has simply stopped indexing me, my MyBlogLog account went MIA, and my Google account (which I've had for years) has vanished.

Both Google and MyBlogLog have been very good in terms of communicating with me, but neither of them have offered a working solution (or even a hint of what may have gone wrong).

Technorati?

I'd have better luck picking up the phone, dialing a random number, and getting President Obama on the phone wanting my input on policy!  After countless tries, through various channels, I have yet to hear a peep from them.

I'm certain these situations (and others) are genuine mistakes, and I'm ...
