zombie-paradeIf you want real change in Washington, it's actually easy to achieve.  All you have to do is make a decision, and stand firm.  Yes, YOU.

For example, "we the people" seem to be convinced that there are only 2 choices available in the majority of our elections.  The common belief is that "third-parties" and/or "independents" can't win, because not enough "other people" will vote for them too.  Since the common belief is that "winning" is the most important thing, you (whether Left or Right) hold your nose and vote for the "lesser evil."

Once that "lesser evil" wins and takes office ...

Bonuses? We're supposed to be in an uproar over $165 million in bonuses?

Give me a frickin' break!

Oh, but ... House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D) is gonna get to the bottom of this "outrageous" bonus scandal!

These people may have a right to their bonuses but they don't have a right to their jobs forever ... These bonuses are going to people who screwed this thing up enormously ... Since the federal government ... now essentially owns that company, maybe it's time to fire some

When is the last time you heard a major politician talk about freedom?

As the policy-wonks and "intellectuals" debate endlessly about "ideas" (in which they really mean "government policy"), we never hear about the most basic of issues ... you know, that little thing called freedom.

Are we really to believe that in America, freedom has become "oh, that's so passe ..."?

With their total and complete dominance in Washington today, the Left - the Progressives - are restructuring our free nation into a complete socialist (anti-free) state (sadly, with the help of too many Republicans).  Unfortunately, they have the support of a large part of the American electorate to do so.  Why?

Why do so many individuals support ...

"The Republican Party was founded specifically to abolish slavery," says Mrs. May, a writer who lives in McLean. "The first nine planks for the Republican Party dealt with civil rights for blacks. Republicans fought for the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments ... [against] total opposition from the Democrats."...

IF ... we had an honest government, politicos like Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, and Maxine Waters (just to name a few) would be under federal investigation for their part in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandals ... so at the very least, you'd think these people could show a little common decency and shut their pie-holes!

It's Time to B.Frank
When will Barney Frank (D-Mass.) learn to shut up and take his seat in the back of the room? For someone so intimately involved (no pun intended) in the ...

Betrayal of His State

We now know one of the payoffs that Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter received for being one of three Republican Senators who allowed President Obama’s trillion-dollar Spendulus bill to become law. WPXI in Pittsburgh reports that Specter has a 5.5 million dollar earmark for the crescent-shaped Flight 93 memorial in the omnibus spending bill just passed by the Senate.

Much as the people of Pennsylvania want to see a fitting memorial built, they yanked support for the crescent design in August 2007 after Tom Burnett Sr., father of Flight 93 hero Tom Jr., started warning the country that the memorial design is ...

Let's see ... been working on posting this since yesterday ... still a long way to go before I get to call myself a geek.  :-)

In the following video, D.L. Hughley interviews Rep. Ron Paul (R), in the best performance by a conservative since President Ronald Reagan!

Admittedly, I didn't dig deep ... but looking through a few of the more "popular" Republican blogs/sites, I didn't even find this interview mentioned.  So much for "getting back to principles" and learning from their latest defeats.

This is why I so often remind everyone that being "conservative" is different from being "Republican."

Evolution Fever …

dinosaurBorn and raised as a staunch, old school German Lutheran, I've always thought the "should evolution or creation be taught in schools" debate was, well ... stupid.

Having attended both parochial and public schools, I learned both ... at BOTH schools!  Imagine that ... and not once did I ever hear of a single kid (or parent) being "offended" either.

In the private school, not one child or parent complained about teaching evolution.  We were interested, we learned, and our parents helped us with our homework.  In the public school it was the same thing.  Gasp ... creation was even in our science books!  Never did a kid or parent complain about "religion being shoved down their throats."

Why was there no controversy way back "in the day?"
