It's hard to believe that voters are consistently, decade after decade, happy with the same old representation they receive in Washington.  It's like more people are willing to file for divorce than they are to cast a vote for fresh, new representation in Washington.  How can this be?

Putting aside party politics ... Are we to believe that nobody ... NOBODY with better ideas, that would be more representative of the people in their districts ... ever challenge these lifelong incumbents and beat them in elections?

Maybe it's just me ... but I thought we all voted for politicians that say one thing, then go to Washington and do the exact opposite, yet remaining in office forever.

It's raining, pouring, economic fallacies by the hour, followed by a flood of horrible policy that is driving us ever further into economic depression. The regime in charge has really gone nuts, revealing itself as both deeply ignorant and horribly evil.
We find ourselves facing the horror of what has always been the Achilles heel of the left wing: its abysmal ignorance of economic science. The ideological tendency has gone from Keynesianism to outright socialism in a matter of a few weeks.
And the trajectory seems to be accelerated mainly by the logic of the interventionist cycle: bad policy leads to bad results that are addressed through bad policy, and so on, straight down the fast track to serfdom. Obama's attachment to "transparency" — the buzzword of the day — allows all intelligent people to observe the sickening sight in real time, and to the cheers of the kept class of intellectual phonies like Ben Bernanke and Paul Krugman.

In October 1991, Suzanna Gratia-Hupp and her parents were having lunch in a cafeteria-style restaurant when George Hennard drove his truck right into the place and opened fire on everyone. Twenty-one people were killed, including her parents, and some 20 others were injured by the madman.

Suzanna owned a handgun, but left it in her car to comply with a Texas state law that made carrying a concealed handgun illegal. If she had disregarded the law, there would have been an opportunity to save many lives.  Once again, the law works against law-abiding citizens.

Out of the approximately 9,000 "earmarks" in the FY2009 Omnibus, one in particular, illustrates perfectly the true nature of this pork - a study to determine why pigs smell.

The government just continues to spend money they don't have, burdening generations of Americans yet born, with higher taxes than any American alive today ... can even imagine.  If you don't yet grasp the serious nature of this endless, out-of-control spending, read what Herbert London, president of the Hudson Institute and professor emeritus of New York University has to say:

The national debt last year was 75% of GDP, higher than what it was in 1943. After the stimulus plan the ratio will be 84% and, if one were to anticipate the passage of Secretary Tim Geithner's Financial Stability Plan designed to stabilize bank problems, the U.S. ratio will be over 100%. The only time in our history that occurred was at the end of World War II, 1944 and 1945. At the moment, there are only five nations with debt to GDP ratios in excess of 100%: Zimbabwe, Lebanon, Japan, Jamaica and Italy.

As the Democratic Socialist Revolution continues to "reshape" the freest most prosperous nation in history, turning it into a 1930's-style economic-fascist state, while continuing to destroy the financial markets ...

We have people who call themselves conservative, but act like Left-wing infiltrators, obviously bent on destroying what little is left of the Republican Party, and the conservative movement with it.

There are legions of back-stabbers out there, but I'd like to focus on just one, because they're all virtually the same.  Others, such as David Brooks and Kathleen Parker in particular, ARE NOT ...

According to the president (and the rest of Washington for that matter), people need more credit.  Now correct me if I'm wrong here ... but isn't that what got us into this mess in the first place?

Zo goes off on the Left for acting like a bunch of children, "crying" to the government so they'll dictate AM radio formats. What are they afraid of? Free speech?

From 1973 to 1985, when we got up on Saturday morning to watch Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo, we also sat in a virtual classroom. Too bad ... this video's probably "politically-incorrect" today.
