If you missed the introduction to this series, aimed at defining what a conservative is, please start by reading Defining Conservatism.

There are various definitions used when describing any given type of conservative.  The conservative definition which seems the most misunderstood, is neoconservatism.  This post is not meant to be an opinion piece, so we'll be relying on the "nerdiest" definitions I can find. This way, we'll get the most accurate definition, and the best insight into our own beliefs too.

What is a Neoconservative?

Conservapedia Definition of Neocon:
A neoconservative (also spelled "neo-conservative"; colloquially, neocon) in American politics can appear to be conservative while in fact favoring big government, interventionalism, and a hostility ...

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says she will resign from office this July 26th.  Wow!

I'm listening to the press conference right now ... is she planning her run for the presidency in 2012?  Maybe a possible run at the Senate?

Palin's pokesman Dave Murrow says Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated at the governor's picnic in Fairbanks at the end of the month.

Sarah Palin says she doesn't need a title to make a difference.

Palin said that since she had decided not to run for re-election, it wouldn't do Alaska any favors by sitting around as a lame-duck governor. She seemed to me, to be both frustrated and fed-up! Palin did bring-up the huge legal bills her family ...

Defining Conservatism

An Introduction:

America, the last refuge of freedom on Earth, is in great danger today.  The philosophical political-divide, seems to be growing wider by the day too.  It makes me wonder sometimes ... Is there a united-front large enough anymore, to actually bring the Leviathan to its knees? In other words:

Is the American population even interested in bringing it to its knees?  Or has the American Creed been trumped by "whose Big Government is best?"

The right-side of the political spectrum often appears more at odds with each other, than we are with the Left.  Is this true?  I don't know.  But we certainly need to find out.

I'm a firm believer that no one individual follows any particular philosophy 100%, ...

This is a MUST READ for all Americans!  By Richard Ebeling, originally posted on the Mises Economics Blog.
Big Government and the 4th of July

As we prepare to celebrate the 233rd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence we should recall why the American colonists made their decision to break away from the British Empire. The Declaration, in the enumerated grievances against the British Crown, makes it crystal clear that the cause was Big Government.

I explain this in a new piece of mine, "A Declaration of Independence from Big Government."

It was a Big Government that violated the ...

There's so much going on these days, it's impossible to keep up.  So here's some random links, thoughts, and news for you to chew on.

The gutter-mentality of the Left never ceases to amaze me.  Even though the 2008 election is nothing but a distant memory, unable to intellectually defend anything the Bush/Obama Administration has done, they continue to attack Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

I mean, really ...

Any regular reader of this blog, knows I'm neither fond of the politics of personality, or what I call "Team Politics." I may have fallen for party-affiliation in the past, but as I've grown older, I couldn't care less.  For me, a politician either believes in freedom, or doesn't.  If not, said politician is an enemy to the American Creed (IMHO).

Last fall, when President George W. Bush(R) added his "emergency-crisis-stimulus," to the "stimulus" he already passed earlier in the year ... go ahead, start calling me names, hate me, I don't care ... but the idea that the 2 major parties were any different (even just a little), ceased to exist.

Bush's "crisis," was in effect Obama's "October Surprise" ...
