I'm not sure what annoys me more: When House Speaker claims to be a Catholic for political reasons or when she panders to the Catholic base by talking like she understands the Bible.
Here's something from CNCNews.com:
At a May 6 Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill, the speaker said: “They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”
“And that Word," Pelosi said, "is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.
“Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.”
Wow. Pelosi, Queen of the Liberals who scream fowl if a school teacher dares to wear a Cross to work - is talking about Scripture guiding public policy. Recently, she said priests needed to speak out against Arizona's anti-immigration law from the pulpit. (Funny how the ACLU and other Liberal groups haven't called her out for mixing government and religion.)
Talk about hypocrisy. This is the woman who champions abortion on demand and has the nerve to bring up Christian values.
We get this kind of nonsense from all Liberal politicians. They toss out God and religion when it suits them but fail to live up to those beliefs. I am not saying people truly professing religious beliefs are perfect. They will make mistakes and sometimes stumble, but they can't be taken seriously as people of faith when they support abortion.
In fact, if you claim to be a Christian, you need to really think about that commitment to God if you are Pro-Choice.
Someday, I will write a post about the Biblical argument against abortion.
As for Pelosi, I think her latest diatribe about using Scripture to direct public policy is the just the beginning. I doubt we will hear much outrage from the Left because even they are smart enough to know she doesn't mean it.

I'll save the time, abortion is murder, it's that simple. Making a manmade law doesn't make it right in Jesus eyes.
