Are you ready?

Are you ready for "The One's" vision of change?

We're heading into uncharted waters here in the old U.S. of A.  The Democrats are readying their greedy little hands for their new power, and POWER is the key word.

I wonder what they'll try with the increased executive powers George W. Bush gave them?

Let's take a look at just 3 key "changes" coming our way.  Shall we?

We all know today's politicians don't consider the Constitution as the law of the land, heck, they don't even consider it a historic document worth remembering ... Case in point #1: Majority Leader Harry Reid.  From the Wall Street Journal (emphasis added):

... on at least one issue [Blagojevich] is more law-abiding than Majority Leader Harry Reid and fellow Democrats: the seating of Roland Burris to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate.

Mr. Blagojevich appointed Mr. Burris to represent Illinois on Tuesday ... This was certainly an act of brash defiance given that nearly everyone had warned the Governor not to do so after he was heard on tape contemplating the sale of the seat for personal gain. But under Illinois law, Mr. Blagojevich had every legal right to do so.

Meanwhile, Mr. Reid and Washington Democrats are refusing to seat Mr. Burris, never mind their lack of authority to do so.

While the Constitution says the Senate can determine its own membership, the Court in Powell interpreted Article I, Section 5 to say that "in judging the qualifications of its members, Congress is limited to the standing qualifications prescribed in the Constitution." Nowhere in the Constitution is there a "qualification" saying that a Senator must not have been appointed by an embarrassing Illinois Governor.

Mr. Reid is also attempting the dodge of referring the matter to the Senate Rules Committee, which is run by Democrats, but the Powell precedent ought to be clear even to political lawyers.

If Mr. Reid wants to banish Mr. Burris, he must first seat him and then persuade two-thirds of the Senate to expel him ... But if Mr. Reid does go that route, we'd suggest worthier expulsion possibilities, such as Connecticut's Chris Dodd, who received sweetheart mortgages from Countrywide Financial while sitting on the Banking Committee.

And I'd add Barney Frank to that list ... just for starters ... I'd love to see a genuine FBI investigation of every member of Congress, but I digress ...

By the way, is it just me, or would this attempt at blocking the seating of a senator (who happens to be a black dude) be twisted into a media storm claiming racism if Reid happened to be a Republican?

Nah ... I must be hallucinating ...

It's no secret that the Democrats can't win in the arena of ideas (it's too bad Republicans left the arena), so what do they do?  Legislate baby! Legislate!  Rules, rules, rules ... Case in point #2: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is re-writing the rules to shut even the faintest opposition out!  From Human Events (emphasis added):

Pelosi's proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

After decades of Democrat control of the House of Representatives, gross abuses to the legislative process and several high-profile scandals contributed to an overwhelming Republican House Congressional landslide victory in 1994. Reforms to the House Rules ... were designed to open up to public scrutiny what had become under this decades-long Democrat majority a dangerously secretive House legislative process. The Republican reform ... included opening committee meetings to the public and media, making Congress actually subject to federal law, term limits for committee chairmen ending decades-long committee fiefdoms, truth in budgeting, elimination of the committee proxy vote, authorization of a House audit, specific requirements for blanket rules waivers, and guarantees to the then-Democrat minority party to offer amendments to pieces of legislation.

Pelosi's proposed repeal of decades-long House accountability reforms exposes a tyrannical Democrat leadership poised to assemble legislation in secret, then goose-step it through Congress by the elimination of debate and amendment procedures as part of America's governing legislative process.

Yeah ... and somehow it's supposed to be politically-incorrect to call them Marxists?

Speaking of Marxists ... Barack Obama's pick for "Climate Czar" (there's my favorite all-American word again), which of course is a newly made-up position, is none other than former President Clinton's administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Carol M. Browner.

Now remember, before you read any further ... we're "not allowed" to call these people Marxists or anything of that nature ... OK?

Case in point #3: A simple google search to research her political background, and you'll find ... drum-roll please ... that Carol M. Browner is one of "THE MEMBERS of the Commission," in other words, one of the "Top Dogs," over at Socialist international! I kid you not!

The Socialist International is the worldwide organisation of social democratic, socialist and labour parties.

Labour, social democratic and socialist parties are now a major political force in democracies around the world, with numerous member parties of the International leading governments or representing the main opposition force. Over 60 member parties of the International, in over 55 different countries and territories, are currently in government.

The supreme decision-making bodies of the International are the Congress, which meets every three to four years, and the Council, which includes all member parties and organisations and which meets twice a year.

CAROL M. BROWNER
Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency under President Bill Clinton. Leading the EPA from 1993 to 2001, she was the longest-serving Administrator in the agency's history. Browner currently serves on the board of several non-profit organisations, including as chair of the National Audubon Society, one of the nation's oldest environmental organisations, and as a member of the Board of the Directors of the Center for American Progress, the Alliance for Climate Protection and the League of Conservation Voters.

Is it just me?  Or are the tinfoil-hat wearing folks warning of the New World Order starting to make sense?

And don't you just love their language?  "supreme decision-making bodies" ???

PS - Apparently NBC has banned Ann Coulter for life!

But one network insider claims it was the book's theme -- a brutal examination of liberal bias in the new era -- that got executives to dis-invite the controversialist.

"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," a TODAY insider reveals. "It's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

Too funny! NBC just guaranteed her an extra 3-5 million books sold!

What say you?

In 2001, in the landmark court case Coleman-Adebayo v. Browner, Carol M. Browner and the agency she administered, the EPA, were found guilty of race, color, and sex-based discrimination as well as tolerating a hostile work environment. The case provided the impetus for the passage (unanimous in both chambers) of the No FEAR Act (Notification of Federal Employees Anti-discrimination and Retaliation) that was signed into law by President George W. Bush. The law was heralded as the first civil rights law of the 21st century. Study of Coleman-Adebayo v. Browner is now mandated study for all new Federal employees within 90 days of their being hired, and every 2 years for all Federal employees. The extent of the racism and retaliation within Ms. Browner's EPA was so pervasive that Congress and the Executive required study of it as the penultimate example of what was WRONG with government. When asked in Congressional hearings whether she accepted the judgement of the jury, Ms. Browner said she did.

The question for Mr. Obama, is: Given her unrepentant position on the deplorable conditions she oversaw at EPA, how is Carol Browner qualified to hold administrative position again?

Amazing. Thanks for the additional info!

"... how is Carol Browner qualified to hold administrative position again?"

It seems in politics today, the dirtier you are, the more qualified you become. I'm just waiting to here Bernie Madoff getting appointed to run social security. He IS qualified!

It'd be funnier if it wasn't so true.
