A poll came out a couple days ago that must have been devastating news for everyone's favorite Big Government Republicans, David Frum and Rick Moran.

Poll: Most Americans Say They Want a Smaller Government

A large majority of Americans say they want a smaller government that provides them with fewer services, according to a new poll from the Washington Post and ABC News.

The poll asked: “Generally speaking, would you say you favor smaller government with fewer services, or larger government with more services?”

Fifty-eight percent said they favor a smaller government with fewer services, and only 38 percent said they favor a larger government with more services.

But, but ... Limited government is so like, yesterday. Dontcha know?

You stupid right-wing “revanchists!”

Rick goes on:

That last is the killer. Since the end of World War II and the rise of modern conservatism, it is been de rigueur for the right to promote the idea that government can be cut down to size, shrunk to an ill-defined outline that bears more of a resemblance to 19th century America than a modern society with all the miseries and challenges that reality entails.

Yes, the easy-to-read, plain language of the Constitution is "ill-defined," and tyranny is freedom. What a bizarre world view.

What's interesting to me though, is that no one ever questions the socialist, communist, and fascist desires to constantly grow government (while taking more and more of everyone's paychecks).

But wanting to shrink it to its Constitutionally enumerated powers? Why that's just crazy!

I guess 58% of Americans are just crazy! According to these pseudo-conservatives that is.

These guys need to be honest with themselves and with the public, because they aren't conservative in any meaningful sense of the word.

What say you?

So, if our political beliefs are similar to Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, or Benjamin Franklin, they would consider us crazy extremists. But if our beliefs are closer to Marx, Lenin, Castro or Mussolini, they probably would think we are enlightened intellectuals. How did things get so backwards? At least the American public is starting to wake up.

Everything is so backwards these days it's become difficult to have a real conversation.

Today, Jefferson, Madison and Franklin would be thrown under the "crazy" bus like they've done to Ron Paul! I fear people don't want genuine liberty in America anymore.
