IF ... we had an honest government, politicos like Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, and Maxine Waters (just to name a few) would be under federal investigation for their part in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandals ... so at the very least, you'd think these people could show a little common decency and shut their pie-holes!
When will Barney Frank (D-Mass.) learn to shut up and take his seat in the back of the room? For someone so intimately involved (no pun intended) in the current financial meltdown, you would think, like any dog that has just made a mess in the House, he would be hiding down the hall with his tail between his legs.
Instead, he's out bullying "state and federal authorities to seek criminal and civil penalties on financial actors that helped cause the current crisis." ... What about greed on Capitol Hill?
In a perfect world, the American public would be fully aware of how deep B.Frank had his pen dipped in this particular well of ink and he would be, at the very least, voted out of office. Unfortunately, he's a Democrat from Massachusetts. If killing a woman isn't a career ender there, I doubt helping to lay down the bedrock of the financial collapse of America would be enough.
It's exciting to see the growth in Tea Party's around the country. I haven't had the chance to attend one yet, but I look forward to doing so! Pajamas TV has a list of upcoming Tea Party's you should check out (click title above), and see if there's one you can attend near you!
Christianity has played a vital role in individualism throughout history. "King of Kings?" Yes! In other words ... the State is not the authority over the individual. Of course, individual (unalienable) rights fly in the face of socialism/communism. For how can the State thrive as grantor (and taker) of rights, if there exists a higher authority? As the benevolent-communist Joseph Lenin once said:
Atheism is a natural and inseparable portion of Marxism, of the theory and practice of Scientific Socialism.
The other day I poked fun at the Religion of Evolution and the idea that science and religion are mutually exclusive. The Left wants you to believe there is a war between religion and science in order to advance the importance of the All-Knowing State. The reality however ... is that no such war exists!
It was the Polish Monk Copernicus, who first put forth the theory of heliocentrism which he developed based on mathematical calculations. It was Galileo's telescope, that proved his theory. Galileo, by the way, was funded by the Catholic Church. In fact, all the leading astronomers of the time, were Jesuit Priests!
Make no mistake about it! The attack on religion, and in particular, Christianity, has to do with advancing the authority of the State. You don't have to believe in God to see where this is all going ... inalienable rights are next on the hit list!
Those espousing liberal agendas say that the individual is quite incapable of knowing what is best for them or their world. Conservatives know that the individual reigns supreme within the eyes of God ... If God Himself entrusted individuals with the care and concern of all of Creation, then how can institutions serve better?
In contrast, conservatives revere the infinite value of human life and the personal liberties that it demands ... They know they cannot define human life and so uphold its existence within its entirety, from natural conception to natural death. Liberals believe that the State can override Creation and so we have segregation between the unborn and born, between the successful and the apathetic, between marriage and the family, and between God and human leadership.
Conservatives understand that happiness - true happiness - occurs along a very "narrow path" ... They build upon the values of their forebears ... Liberals prefer to throw the Obama wrench into every difficulty, seeking a Nirvana in which everyone is guaranteed success, happiness, and ... absolution from conduct. Conservatives entrust; liberals experiment.
Prohibition has been such a major success! Let's see ... alcohol prohibition in the 1920's led to a better, more enlightened society growth in organized crime and violence, while at the same time made criminals out of ordinary citizens. And today's Drug War has kept kids off drugs given birth to drug cartels with standing armies!
Sweet!
With such an undeniably proven track-record, what other benefits can we achieve with prohibition? Maybe we can use drug prohibition as an excuse to take away guns!
Nah ... that'll never happen ...
The Democrats are going to use prohibition induced violence to take away our gun rights. Because only criminals should be allowed to have guns or drugs.
I have been saying for several decades that drug prohibition would lead to gun prohibition. Way to go Conservatives. Because like you know. Prohibition works.

And last but not least ... I wonder what are our European Betters are up to these days?
I Sell the Morning Papers, Sir:
In England, the Cambridgeshire County Council used powers given it by a British anti-terrorism law to spy secretly on local newsboys. Council officials believed the boys were delivering newspapers without required permits. They later used evidence gathered by the spies to prosecute one shop owner for using five of the paperboys.
Yeah ... government surveillance will never be used against innocent civilians ...

You got that right!
It’s an entirely government (socialism) created mess!
Fannie and Freddie were created by CONGRESS, who also dictates their loan numbers and capital requirements. Fannie and Freddie do not have to pay state and local income taxes, nor do they have to follow the basic accounting standards that are required of all private businesses. They aren’t even regulated by the SEC!
As far as those “Evil Wall Street” guys … everywhere they went wrong, they were simply following Washington’s marching orders.
The truth is slowly leaking out: It was government advocated CRA. It was government advocated subprime lending. “Affordable housing is good, you know!!”
All commentators: head my words. Go look at the Case Schiller “inflation, size, quality” adjusted housing index. Just Google it. You will find it. This is the most instructive data series you will look at in your entire lives. After being flat, in Q3 of 1996 housing prices took off like a rocket. They peaked in the first quarter of 2006, ten years later.
Now ask yourselves: Was the housing bubble Bush? Bush’s lax regulation? (Oh, wait, housing took off and he wasn’t elected yet!!!) Greenspan?
What happened in 1996 that made housing prices take off???? (Note, Bush haters: 50% of the housing bubble occurred before Bush even took office. WTF?)
Greedy bankers? Lax regulation?? Crappola.
Flumoxed????
Ask yourselves what policy decisions were being made in 1995 and 1996 that might make housing prices take off for the moon in Q3 1996.
Answer: EZ credit. How’s that? Clinton era CRA regulations that said: Banks: give po people loans, or we will bring criminal charges. And crank up them subprime loans! Home ownership is good!! More EZ credit!!!!!
And then the loan syndicators came in.
And then the greedy originators, greedy home buyers, greedy bankers came in.
You know the rest. A feeding frenzy. Kablooey!!!
But it all started with Clinton era, government, social engineering. Protected by Barney Frank. Period.
But the Clinton Legacy Machine doesn’t want that out there.
Sad.
