I think that science education in this country has been dumbed down so they can get away with this kind of this. A nuclear reactor does not equal a nuclear bomb. One requires 3% nuclear material and the other 80%.
Iran is a much bigger country than either Iraq or Afghanistan. Given that our troops are exhibited record level stress as shown in suicides and AWOLs, this would be an exercise in insanity.
When you research the CIA, you find that they used the religious fervor of radical Islamists to combat Communism, or so they said. It's so ironic that just about every dissident group the CIA trained from the Mujaheddin to the Zetas of Mexico, they seem to turn on us -ergo Blowback.
I believe the Ground Zero Mosque is nothing but a propaganda publicity stunt designed to direct American angst at generic Muslims, and make us more willing to take on Iran. The funny thing is, as I've been blogging about, is that Muslims aren't contributing to this Mosque, it's those darn tax-exempt foundations and CFR types who are footing the bill. The same ones that seem to want a war with Iran.
My theory is that Iran and it's economy is one of the few left in the world that is not in the central bankster's ledger book. The WHOLE world must be dominated, don't you know?
If it weren't for the CIA and their meddling, Iran might still very well be a democracy - how dare they actually want to own their natural resources!
The modern day progressive movement is coming to an end CL. And the one thing history tells us is that when the progressives are driven back into the shadows and always ends badly.
What could go wrong if the Iranians got nukes. They have proven that they are trustworthy folks who agree to live and let live with Israel and the west. No, wait, what?
When is the last time Iran started a war? Also, as Persians, not Arabs, what are Iran's risks of building the bomb? It would certainly cause them a great deal of problems. Personally, I think the evidence suggests they're not building the bomb, but instead, this is all Ruling Class bread and circus for the masses ... To make sure the People focus on the enemy "over there," instead of focusing on our true enemy, the perpetrators of our economic crisis - the Ruling Class in Washington DC.
Just considering the severe economic damage that Democrats and Republicans created alone, provides enough evidence to not believe a word they say in regards to any matter. Why believe proven liars?
Besides, once the Treasury bubble bursts and war with Iran brings a terrorist attack or 2 to our soil, American global dominance and what remains of our freedom at home will come to an abrupt end.
Iran started a war with us when they took the hostages in the Carter administration - but Jimmy didn't have the nuts to fire back. I would have given them a nuclear ultimatum the first day; then their terrorists wouldn't have messed with us since.
Anyone who knows Muslim culture knows that force is the only thing they respect. Try to govern them in accordance with our concept of due process (as we did in Iraq before the handover) and they'll laugh at you. We have to give 'em something they can't laugh at.
The incident you state was the foretold "blowback" from our CIA throwing out Iran's democratically elected government in 1953 and putting in the Shah. The Shah, by the way had his own secret police that made people "disappear" and his own brand of tyranny. The fact that he was a puppet for the central banks was also obvious to the Iranians, who turned to a more hardcore Muslim faith for courage and solace. To say that we were just innocently over there minding our own business and the mean old Iranians kidnapped hostages is beyond naive.
