The successful Opportunity Scholarship Program gave kids like Mercedes the chance to escape one of the worst school districts in the country. Not only was the program popular, but it was very successful too!
But ... the Obama Administration with the help of the Democrats in Congress, effectively killed this program which allowed low-income children to attend private schools.
