The 2 have become too confused these days. I don't even know what term to call myself anymore! As I commented on yesterday's paleocon post, I've been accused on some conservative sites of being a liberal (lefty/progressive). Why? Because I named my blog The Classic Liberal! Apparantly, that's all the evidence you need. I don't blame them though ... probably attended public school. IMHO, it's survival mode in America today. "We the people" vs. the Leviathan! We can either start trying to find the things we all have in common, or we can just continue fighting ... as we bend-over for our Overlords rectal exam! Great topic, and a great starting point, and this seems to be the most reasonable definition of neoconservatism that I could find. It does seem that modern neocons (the younger Kristol, especially) have become much more prominent in their defense of traditional social conservatism. Otherwise, the above descriptions jibe with my own understanding of the neocon philosophy. Just got here via Dr. Douglas's site.
