It should be obvious that the Left controls the political conversation in America today. They twist words, change definitions, and have the full support of the media behind them to boot.
Left-wing propaganda gets trumpeted 24/7, blatant smear attacks are fabricated out of nothing, and it's virtually put the Right on full-time defense. It's true.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
To overcome this obstacle, the Right needs to take control of the conversation. Before we can accomplish that though, we have to know what we want, how we plan to accomplish it, and most importantly, be consistent.
Over at Washington Rebel today, I discussed the right blogosphere (and the movement in general), our lack of consistency, and what it means to America's Fate. I attempted to show how we create our own problems, which ultimately keeps the left in control.
Way too often on the right, we're quick to subordinate our principles to the interests of the Republican Party. Even with the great strides being made by the Tea Party movement, partisanship remains King.
But if we want to control the conversation, and I'd like to think we do, our message must be consistent with our principles. This means for example, if we're booing Obama for profligate spending, then we shouldn't be cheering for George W. Bush!
No administration in the history of our nation (prior to Obama), oversaw the abusive levels of spending Bush did. In fact, if Obama had been elected in 2000, and governed exactly as Bush did, we'd had declared it was the end of civilization!
Let's never forget too, it was Bush who started the stimulus, bailouts, buyouts, and all that mess to begin with.
Anyways ... You get my point. Make sure to read America's Fate for the entire lecture.
