Cop Killers

theCL  2010-06-20  Government, Police State, Video

I've never understood the idea of a "cop killer," as if that's some special class of criminal. After all, a killer is a killer. A life is a life. Whether it's some random guy on the street, a grandmother, cashier, or anyone else for that matter who is murdered, their life was every bit as valuable as any cops. One persons life isn't more valuable than another's, and wearing a state issued costume doesn't change this fact. Murder is murder.

We live in an increasingly messed up world. A country founded on natural rights and limited government, now boasts of the largest, most expensive leviathan the world has ever known. And the leviathan keeps growing more aggressive by the day too. If you wonder where our virtuous society has gone, I can tell you. Virtue has been swept under the rug in favor of the State.

How can anyone expect society to hold onto its virtue when its authorities act the way they do today? We're fed lies daily from Washington and our state capitals, we watch in utter dismay as the federal government commandeers private companies while shaking other companies down for money, our "officials" drove Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into the ground and taxed the rest of us to pay for it (without any investigation), and our "peace officers" act more like sadistic thugs among many other examples.

The police can and do serve a productive role in our society, or more like can and did. Too many today however, act no better than the criminals they're supposed to protect us from, and often times much worse. The increasingly abusive and authoritarian behavior of the cops (as well as the rest of the government) will only continue to aid and abet the complete breakdown of our society.

The aggressive use of tasers, SWAT raids, pet shootings, and other violent actions by the police have taken what was once a relationship of trust between the average citizen and the police, and turned it into a state of fear. People who wouldn't hurt a fly or break the speed limit are now made uncomfortable in the presence of police. This should be no surprise either, considering there are enough laws on the books that any given person could be charged with a federal crime on any given day.

Fear breeds hatred, not order. Hatred breeds chaos, not peace.

Please take the time to watch the following video, but I must warn you, if you love dogs, it's very disturbing. I love dogs. They're amazing animals. I also have a healthy fear of aggressive dogs. Hey, a dog is a dog. I don't expect it to be anything else. But as you'll see in the following video, the dog tied to the back of the pick-up truck was a) not aggressive, b) actually submissive and approachable, and c) scared out of its wits. This dog was a threat to no one.

Here's a real cop killer for ya ...

H/T - Yet Another Reason Why Cops Should Not Have Guns (includes another dog shooting video).

You'll be even more outraged when you watch part 1 of the video, where you'll see the cop who shot the dog petting her before walking away with her on a leash. Notice too, how he had the dog in complete submission before he pulled out his gun and shot her. I'm no PETA member, a dog is a dog, but if that had been my dog ... to say my anger would be boiling is to put it mildly.

Now of course I don't know the whole story, like who the owner of the dog was and why the cops were there to begin with, but none of that would change the facts about how these officers acted. This is just more evidence that our government has grown too large and too powerful. It has turned against the people it's supposed to protect and serve. Nobody can (or should) have faith in institutions that act like our government does today, leaving one to wonder just how long it will be before the people start fighting back.

This isn't order, it's violent abuse. We can take the power back, or just sit back in obedience, watching them continue to tear the fabric of our society apart. Unfortunately, sitting back in obedience seems to be the road we're on.

What say you?

How about when someone kills a criminal cop.
A bad guy with a badge and a gun. They are doing society a service. I say to them keep up the good work!

Cop killers are treated different because it is against societies rules to kill one. It has always been a code of ethics amongst criminals that you do not shoot a cop. He represents the US Constitution, and the society he serves. The cop must play by the rule book, and criminals know this. Therefore criminals know that if they kill a cop, they will have ALL law-enforcement agency's in the United States hunting them down relentlessly until their capture. To kill a cop is the act of a mad dog who needs to be put down, and thank God that the vast majority of our public believes this. The cop stands alone between you and anarchy. When the cop is taken down, the public responds.

As far as the dog video; Even though you are a liberal, and only like to hear the one side of the story that enrages you, try to find out ALL the facts before you attack the actions of others.

Bad cops? Yes there are some on different departments. Just like society, there are bad people hired within the ranks. As a police officer for the past 16 years, I am happy to say that when they are found they are dealt with accordingly.

Here's an idea. Why don't you and your liberal cop hating buddies move to Mexico. They hate cop's there and assassinate them all the time. I'm sure you will get along fine with your local drug lord, and maybe if you do enough bitch work for him he will not chop off your head!!

It is against societies rules to kill anyone. Period. I provided a link to additional footage of the dog shooting. You can watch the entire episode if you'd like.

You use the term "liberal" in its modern sense while applying it to me, but that doesn't make sense at all if you had read the entire post, which is an indictment on everything they love. Here's an idea. Why don't you read the post more carefully before jumping down my throat? Argue and disagree all you want, but at least try and get your facts right.
