I thought that weird phrase was due to The Illuminatus Trilogy.

I dropped my subscription to NR when Lowry took over. Ugh, he's too tiresome to read on a regular basis.

Any chance you guys can recruit John Derbyshire to your Original NR revival? He's my mind kind of guy.

The Trilogy is a great read.

While not as harsh on NR [they still employ Mark Steyn and John Derbyshire and Jonah Goldberg], I must say that under Rich 'Twinkle Toes' Lowry they've gone downhill.

I tried not to be too harsh, but I think you understand my point which is consistent throughout this blog. Just as the Constitution is not a "living document," conservatism isn't a "living philosophy."

Skepticism of the State, in other words a distrust of government, is essential to liberty. And just as little poison is too much, so too is a little acceptance of State power.

Remember Washington's words, "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
