Don’t Make Fun Of ‘Savior’ Obama

Apparently, an Internet joke is considered hard news these days.

There has been an e-mail going around since at least early 2009 that states:

"DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN."

Now there is a Facebook page with this title and that has the media hot on the story because obviously people are actually "praying" for President Obama's death. A quick look at Google shows media giants like ABC News, CNN, and others are all over this story.

What a joke. It is stupid joke and that is all. I could be wrong. It could be true the 1.1 million people who made joined the Facebook page really like Swayzie, Fawcett, Jackson.

I am all for free speech and do not think this e-mail/page is harmful. I think it's dumb and tasteless but the media coverage it has received is stupid. Non one except the media takes this seriously.

This isn't about threats against the president or hateful religious people praying for his death, it is about the Liberal media taking offense to any criticism or satire of the man they anointed the "Savior" of mankind.

When George Bush was president, there were people who wanted him dead. There was a book about his assassination and people protested and carried signs hoping he would die. Liberals are always criticizing Conservatives and calling for their abuse. Anyone remember the porno movie made about Sarah Palin or Sandra Bernhard saying she should be raped by six black men.

I guess that kind of nonsense is OK because it is at the expense of "those hateful Conservatives" byt the "loving, tolerant Liberals."

There are people who legitimately pray for the president to die and those people are ignorant, but this whole Facebook "controversy" is a moronic attempt to demonize any person who does not worship at the feet of Obama.

What say you?

This is one of those jokes...insert name here. This joke can be made about anyone. And yes it's a stupid joke. Plus wishful thinking. ;)
