The State organs are now bald faced lying in an attempt to drum-up racism ...
Divide and conquer.
Making up Facts so they Can Make Their Case
Recently, many left-wing bloggers (and “journalists”) were quick to seize on remarks the entertainer allegedly made about slavery as evidence of that good man’s unfitness to own the St. Louis Rams. They didn’t bother to authenticate the quote because it corresponded with their image of the talk show host, an image which has absolutely nothing to do with the reality of the man.
And of course, weenie Charles Johnson joins the smear campaign.
Charles Johnson Now So Anti-Racist He's Denouncing Fake Racist Quotes
Charles Johnson was against fake but accurate before he was for it.
That link I've left in provides a flurry of extremely dubious Limbaugh "quotes" -- and not a single link or citation. Including the ones created wholesale by noted scholar "zedladdy" and spread by no lesser authority than "cobra."
Given that "zedladdy" and "cobra" previously invented own quotes, spread them around, and then uploaded them to WikiQuote, I'd say pretty much every unsourced quote in this list is suspect. (Edit: I mean except the Donovan McNabb quote, which I know is real, since I heard it 'n stuff.)
But surely our crusading Mensa Chapter President wouldn't be taken in by an obvious false "quote" like:
You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.
Charles Johnson read it on the internet, so it's true.
Well. I've read a lot of stuff on the internet about his unhealthy relationship with his bike's seat-post. Presumably this is all true as well.
L.A. Times art critic beyond parody
That's just it, you see? What Mad King Charles is doing -- the exposé of Rush's supposedly "secret" racism -- is an assertion of moral and intellectual superiority.
The crusading "anti-racist" accuser in such a situation is in fact proclaiming a message about himself: "Not only am I not a racist, but I am endowed with the superior insight and laudable courage to identify and denounce the hidden racism of others. Admire me!"
Charles Johnson: Philanthropic Humanitarian? Laughably implausible, which is your big clue that CJ is actually doing Something Else.
Charles Johnson transmorgrifies into Dan Rather
Charles Johnson not only repeats the malicious libel that Rush, in 1998, praised James Earl Ray, but when challenged in the thread, he goes all Dan Rather ... By the way, I don’t follow the NFL so can someone explain to me when a political litmus test was imposed for ownership?
MSNBC guest: For Limbaugh, owning an NFL team would be like owning a plantation
Narratives, like flowers, don’t spring up overnight; they have to be carefully nurtured until they bloom. Consider this another little sprinkle from the water can. And please do note that the James Earl Ray nonsense she attributes to Limbaugh — which also happens to be a favorite of my moral superiors in the blogosphere — now makes two specious unsourced quotes he’s been tagged with on MSNBC in hopes of blocking his NFL bid. I say again: He should sue. They’re simply not going to fact-check this stuff unless and until he threatens them into doing so.
But of course, Al Sharpton's involved.
Here's the money quote from Jackson, which is just too rich in irony:
"He should not have the privilege of owning an NFL franchise..." - Jesse Jackson
Okay, Prove You Didn't Say It!
What's the theory here? He said these things on the air in 2006 and nobody noticed? 2001? Maybe 1995, back when Clinton was blaming him for Oklahoma City? Hey, let's not get hung up on details. Just because nobody can find any evidence anywhere of Rush saying these "quotes" doesn't mean he didn't say 'em. As someone called Jason Whitlock says:
Limbaugh doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt on racial matters.
Why not? He does his show every day with an off-mike black sidekick yakking in his ear (Mr. Snerdley) and he has a black guest-host (the great Walter Williams). More to the point, when I began guest-hosting for Rush, I was amazed to discover that George Soros pays a team of stenographers, many of them called Zachary, to work their tippy-tappy fingers to the bone for three hours transcribing everything Rush or his fill-ins say in the hope that their efforts will one day be rewarded and he will deliver the big career-detonating soundbite.
So where are these racist soundbites? Where's the audio? Where's the transcript? Name the year. Heigh-ho, say CNN's Rick Sanchez and the rest of the basement-ratings crowd. Not our problem: It's for Limbaugh to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he's never said it. We're too busy fact-checking anti-Obama jokes to fact-check our own reporting . . .
Psychology Today: "Will Blacks play football for Massah Limbaugh?"
A columnist at Psychology Today has posted an article about the possibility that Rush Limbaugh will be part of a group to purchase the St. Louis Rams. The article is a must be read, for those who want a good look at racial stereotyping by someone who holds himself out as racially enlightened.
The article is titled If Rush Limbaugh buys the St. Louis Rams, Will it Become All White or All Right?. The sub-heading of the article is "Will Blacks play football for Massah Limbaugh?"
The thesis of the article boils down to one big stereotype that only black athletes who share the author's liberal values are good athletes, and that any black athlete who would play for a Rush Limbaugh-owned team would not only be a sellout, but also no good on the field ...
And some pleasantries from Chris Matthews.
On his show today Chris Matthews said of Rush Limbaugh, “at some point somebody’s going to jam a CO2 pellet into his head and he’s going to explode like a giant blimp.”
