There isn't much to say about the passing of Farrah Fawcett that hasn't been already said. This sad news however, reminded me of a little story from my own life, in which Farrah played a part.
When I was in the 2nd grade, there was a group of us boys who liked Farrah Fawcett. (Yes, 2nd grade, I've never really been one of those "normal" people). Anyways ... I had this picture of Farrah. From the best my memory serves me, it was the picture you see to your left, but in black and white. I had cut it out of the newspaper.
I sold it to a kid for 50 cents. I mean, it was cool to have the picture and everything, but being the Greedy Capitalist (tm) I already was, and 50 cents being good money to kid back in the day, I was more than happy to sell it!
The teacher "caught" our transaction (we weren't exactly trying to be discreet, thinking it wasn't a big deal), took the photo, the cash, lectured us and called our parents. I don't remember exactly how much trouble we were actually in, most likely just a couple more lectures from our parents.
I think it's funny that it happened, always have, that's why I still remember it. They treated us like we were covert operators in an underground world of illegal porn distribution. Overreaction is nothing new folks! It's been happening since the dawn of time.
Thanks for the memory Farrah, you're one of God's Angels now.
