Nevermind that "we the people" were overwhelmingly AGAINST this Leviathan, the House of Representatives joined the Senate today, approving a pork-laden bailout bill that could cost the taxpayers $1 trillion, completely nullifying the US Constitution, a document that the Washington Elite feels is best used to wipe their ass.

This latest scandal by Washington to fleece the American taxpayers put the final nail in the coffin.  There's no need for a funeral, because there's nothing left to honor.  Just bury the Republican party, and we'll wipe our hands clean  ... they are no different than Democrats anymore.

Oh, I can hear the arguments now ... abortion, judicial appointments, yack, yack, yack ... none of it changes the one, most fundamental fact - both parties believe in government, more than they believe in you!  We just took one small step for man, and one giant leap for socialism.

Socialism in all it's forms, is a destructive failure. It's failing all over Europe, and communist countries have been forced to adapt free market strategies.  But in Washington?  They're doing everything possible to throw freedom and the prosperity it brings, under the bus to make way for grand schemes of socialism.

Is that the America you know?

It's no secret that John McCain isn't very popular with Republican voters.  Throughout the campaign, he was hanging on due to nothing more than his Republican affiliation.  When he picked Governor Sarah Palin, he found support from "the base" he desperately needed.  As reluctant as we are with him, Palin is just the type of politician we Republican voters have been looking for.  She's not an "insider", speaks her mind, and looks out for the taxpayer.  She's genuinely a person who can offer us a fresh perspective on Washington and its cabal of fund-raising addicted lobbyist pleaser's.

But just as the excitement was building, McCain seemed to be attempting to turn Palin into mini-McCain.  This was such a dumb move, it's not surprising his poll numbers started to fade, giving Barack Obama the lead once again.  If McCain is really such a "maverick", he'd be happy to leave Palin to be Palin, even if they disagreed.  Quite frankly, selling the idea that they do disagree on some things is a winning strategy!  Sarah Palin is the only reason McCain isn't 20 points behind in the polls in the first place.

Then McCain, "The Great Legislator from the Sky" makes a bumble-headed move to "suspend the campaign," so he could run off to Washington to make deals.  Presidents aren't legislators, and good presidents aren't bi-partisan either.  Nobody votes them in to govern like the other party.

Then ... to put the icing on the cake (nail in the coffin), this genuine war hero, the man who put his life on the line defending our great nation, votes to approve the single largest socialist act in America's history, wiping his ass with the Constitution as he does it.

We may have thought John McCain was "Mr. Anti-Pork," but this anti-Constitutional bailout bill he approved was a monument in honor of pork!  During his acceptance speech McCain told us:

"I've fought the big spenders in both parties, who waste your money on things you neither need nor want, and the first big-spending pork-barrel earmark bill that comes across my desk, I will veto it. I will make them famous, and you will know their names. You will know their names."

John McCain just proved he's full of crap in regards to fighting pork, but there's plenty of names he could name ... Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, Jamie Gorelick, Franklin Raines, Chuck Schumer, et. al. are all deeply involved in creating the mortgage mess.  McCain says nothing.  Obama's disturbing close associations like Bill Ayers, Antonin Rezko, Mike Klonsky, Boss Dailey, et. al.  McCain says not a word.

Like George W. Bush ... John McCain is no Republican.

Voters are ANGRY about this bill! All McCain had to do was vote against it, stand firm, and explain the simple reasons why.  If he had done this, he'd be ahead in the polls by 20pts right now!  But instead, John McCain joined the rest of the Washington Elite to rule against "we the people," who actually make this country thrive.  McCain's alliance is to Washington, not "we the people".

George W. Bush's expansion of both the size and scope of the federal government makes FDR look like Thomas Jefferson in comparison.  The prescription drug benefit he signed was the largest expansion of entitlements in over 40 years.  "No Child Left Behind" effectually took the schools out of the hands of communities, and handed them over to the federal government.  He added an additional $250 billion on top of what was already budgeted for Hurricane Katrina relief, and has presided over the largest expansion of government spending in US history.

In the name of fighting terrorism, he created the Department of Homeland Security.  Do we need yet another bureaucracy to fight terrorists?  In the real world no, but in Washington ... there's never enough bureaucracy.  The Patriot Act may have a few merits, but it's loaded with provisions that violate the fourth amendment, and expanded the powers of both the Department of Justice and Executive Branch.

Throw out the tenth amendment too!  Today, the federal government is taking over a significant portion of the banking system, and has expanded the powers of the Treasury to boot!

These things are more than spitting in the face of Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, and our Founding Fathers, they're a direct spit in the face of "we the people".

By supporting this bill, John McCain showed us he believes Big Government is the answer too, so to all the Republican voters out there, "Welcome to the Democrat Party"!
