The Tea Party is not just comprised of strong small-government conservatives. A lot of crazy bastards have jumped on the bandwagon, a bunch of disaffected fringey malcontents who have been frustrated for their whole lives at never having been in "real politics," always shut out of real politics by the, erm, exoticness of their views.
Crank libertarians, I mean. The kind that just want to argue about the gold standard ... - Ace.
Ace has got part of it right. The Tea Party Movement is also comprised of LIMITED-government conservatives, such as myself. You know ... one of those "disaffected fringey malcontents" who don't believe attacking "conspiracy theorists" is a valid (or even worthwhile) "real politics" activity.
It's more like a teenage soap opera if you ask me.
Of course, "real politics" doesn't deal with anything that would actually make a difference! Oh, I don't know, like auditing the Federal Reserve or a gold standard ... Those crazy, exotic views!
But, but ... How can that be? Ace just told us those issues are "fringey" and "crank."
Crazy Sarah Palin attacked the Federal Reserve too! Like, OMG.
Of course, Palin and 70 to 79% of Americans are just "disaffected fringey malcontents." After all, the cool kids (who haven't got a clue about economics) know better!

The single best resource for Economics on the web. Hands down. We're making strides towards a total rejection of Keynesianism, we just have to keep the hammer down.
I'm almost finished with my own study of Hayek's "The Fatal Conceit", after which I'll move to "Human Action". I want to do a 'Modern Thoughts on Hayek' series. I could use your help.
You fringe kook you.
I was lucky enough to have learned Austrian school economics in college. I've been an econ geek ever since. Be glad to help you out with Hayek.
Hey!
"disaffected fringey malcontent"
I resemble that remark!
