Ricky Gervais Takes on Christianity
The movie is a full-on attack on religion in general and Christianity in particular. It might be the most blatantly, one-sidedly atheist movie ever released by a major studio, in this case Warner Bros.
Gervais delights in what a faith-based society would call blasphemy, setting up an imaginary world in which no one ever lies. Except his character, who spreads what Gervais obviously sees as the biggest lie of all: Belief in God.

Michael Moore's new film, Capitalism: A Love Story, TANKED at the box office too!
So, trashing capitalism (and getting it wrong while he does) doesn't sell either? Is it just me, or is Hollywood truly disconnected from the rest of the world? Here, let me help.
Dear Hollywood,
People go to the movies to escape and be entertained, not to get preached at about your failed socialism, beloved murderous dictators, and eco-nonsense. Maybe the politicians don't talk about it, and the mainstream media abhors it, but people in America still believe in FREEDOM!
Besides, we all see your pathetic antics and empty lives (that you put on full display) everyday in the papers, on TV, and the webby-tubes. We're not impressed. And we can't figure out for the life of us, why you think anyone takes you seriously.
