I am thrilled that you are explaining the Administration's use of metaphor, hypnotic language patterns, and the like. I share your opinion that it is volitional and manipulative. Frankly, it reminds me of horoscope and fortune cookie language patterns (i.e., "someone tomorrow will remind you of the past and inspire you to greatness") Totally empty!
Here is my problem with your angle on the story. You mention Erikson and NLP. You are familiar with a presupposition, aren't you? You are presupposing that NLP is always used to mislead and manipulate. This is categorically false. NLP falls under CBT and is used worldwide in therapy. For example, our troops coming back from war often have PTSD. NLP patterns can help people edit these mental movies of horror.
I should tell you I am a master practitioner of NLP who uses cognitive psychology to help people all day.
Keep up the work on exposing the intentional use of these language patterns that end up hurting our economy and our national security.
