chihuahuaStupid Obligatory Disclaimer: Cops are cool.  Police keep us safe.  In and of themselves, they're good.  Okay?

Under our republican form of government, the police have authority only so far as the Constitution allows.  They are bound "by the chains of the Constitution," just like everybody else in government.  Today however, just like everything else with government, they've taken on the idea that authority belongs to them alone.

And sorry, but not by any measurable means, is having the world's largest prison population a thing of pride.  The complete recklessness and disregard of our inalienable rights by government at all levels, is radically hurting us all.  When it comes to the government/legal system ... assuming "I don't care, it won't affect me," is a very dangerous myth to bet your freedom on.

Case #1: A family outside of Cincinnati left home and forgot to let their dog back in the house.  Being a dog, it managed to find it's way out of the backyard.  Two cops see the dog and decide they better take action.  Soon after, the family arrives home only to find blood, 3 bullets, and a note from the Blue Ash Police Department about their dog.

The cops killed the dog on the owner's front porch.

Fast Facts:
Breed: Chihuahua.
Classification: Toy.
Weight (M): Less than 6 lb Height: 6 - 9".
Weight (F): Less than 6 lb Height: 6 - 9".
Distinction: The very smallest dog breed.
Temperament: Irritable, overconfident or downright nasty when provoked.

They can be mean little buggers, I know.  But they also weigh less than 6 lbs!

One would think a trained officer of the law is man enough to handle a chihuahua without using a gun.  The soft-end of a broomstick will keep a dog like that under control.  Besides, it's hard to tell from the story why the cops had to bother with the dog in the first place.  Maybe I'm just hallucinating ... but something tells me there's more productive things a couple of officers could've been doing.

Family Outraged After Officer Shoots Their Dog

The Bullocks were shocked to learn that Jack had gotten out of the backyard and two officers who tried to catch him, ended up shooting and killing him right on the family's front porch.

"He was cornered on the porch and scared," said Sharon Bullock. "The officer bent down bare-handed to pick up Jack, and Jack bit him."

"My five-year-old cried himself to sleep the night before last, wanting his dog," said Sharon Bullock.

They're wondering why the officers didn't call the SPCA to catch the dog.

"They didn't make that phone call other than to come scoop the dog off the porch after they shot him," said Scott Bullock. "Two grown men that can't gather up a five-pound dog - and they're trained police officers - sounds ridiculous to me."

Case #2: Ronnie Holloway has a clean record, but he got his ass beat by a police officer anyways, for not having his jacket zipped.  Huh? This video speaks for itself.

Case #3: Police pulled over an ambulance as it was transporting a woman to the hospital, because "he failed to yield to his patrol car."  When the ambulance failed to immediately stop (of course, because they were rushing a woman to the hospital), the police officer went into a rage!

These 3 cases are horrible to begin with, but when you look at them in light of how fast the government is growing ... an aggressive, militarized police could very well be the nail in freedom's coffin.
