It's virtually a sure thing that Republicans will win more seats in Congress this fall, and kicking a bunch of radical progressives out certainly can't hurt. But don't kid yourselves about the "meaning" of it all, because just like Democrats, Republicans won't do a thing about our country's financial instability either.
America has become a one-party system.
Example 1:
When Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) was on Chris Matthews' show the other night, he refused to answer what he'd cut out the federal budget. Matthews played clips of elitist Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Jeff Sessions (R-AL) too, neither of which could name a cut they wanted either. All they had to say was, "blah, blah, blah ... "
Don't kid yourselves believing these were "nuanced" performances either. Because in truth the Republicans are every bit as bad, as the Democrats they claim to be worse. As part of the Ruling Class their only desire is to plunder and pillage us taxpayers. That way they can pamper and subsidize their largest donors, while lining their own pockets to boot.
Small/limited government? Yeah, right. When in power, the Republicans have grown the size and scope of government, every bit as much as Democrats.
Example 2:
From the National Review Online ...
Do Not Trust Cornyn or McConnell on Spending Cuts
Republicans, perhaps because of their party’s evangelical wing, understand what it means to be born again — and they’re out to convince Americans that they are born-again debt crusaders, ready to rumble in the holy struggle for smaller deficits and less-unbalanced budgets. This takes a little bit of chutzpah. Here’s McConnell: “The American people don’t think our problem is that government taxes too little. Our problem is that government taxes too much. And that it spends too much and borrows too much. And until Democrats demonstrate even the slightest ability to restrain the recklessness with which they spend Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars, the job creators and the workers of this country aren’t about to take them seriously on how to lower the debt. The American people shouldn’t be asked to pay the price for Democrats’ recklessness through higher taxes.” Until Democrats demonstrate the slightest ability to restrain their recklessness? Fair enough, but let me refresh Senator McConnell’s memory:
Check out the spending under your guys, Senator McConnell. Notice how it doesn’t go down? This is why nobody trusts Republicans on spending: because Republicans have not earned anybody’s trust.
If you want to see just how befuddled Republicans are when it comes to this issue, look no further than Senator John Cornyn’s performance on Meet the Press opposite David Gregory this weekend. Gregory asks the same question I ask every time I interview a Republican bigwig: “What does distinguish the Republican party of today from the Republican party under President Bush’s rule, with regards to spending.” Cornyn’s answer was, basically, “Uhhhhh — hey, look, something shiny!” But let’s hear from the senator in his own words: “Well, I think what people are looking for, David, are checks and balances. They’ve had single-partygovernment and it’s scaring the living daylights out of them, and it’s keeping job creators on the sidelines rather than investing and creating jobs. That’s why the private sector isn’t creating jobs.” This is politician for, “The dog ate my homework.” Yes, there is some uncertainty about the political environment, and that surely is affecting investing and hiring decisions. You know what else is affecting those decisions? A couple of trillion dollars’ worth of devalued capital in the form of collapsed real-estate values and a crippled banking system that Congress has decided to prop up rather than allow it to be sorted out by the ruthless Darwinian forces of the market.
Example 3:
Nevermind that progressive George W. Bush and his cronies (Karl Rove and Dick Cheney) destroyed the conservative movement. Because the Republican Party still believes that "compassionate conservatism" is the wave of the future.
Cornyn: George W. Bush Stock Rising (VIDEO)
Democrats were already pretty pleased with the fact that NRCC chairman Pete Sessions pushed for a return to Bush era policies over the weekend. Now they have more ammunition. On C-SPAN's Newsmakers yet, NRSC chairman John Cornyn went a step further.
"Look, I think President Bush's stock has gone up a lot since he left office," Cornyn said. "People appreciate his resolve and commitment in the face of a national security threat like 9/11. He had his challenges no doubt. We have learned a lot about things we could have done better as Republicans in terms of fiscal responsibility...I think a lot of people are looking back with a little more -- with more fondness on President Bush's administration, and I think history will treat him well."
The only sincere member of the Republican Party is Rep. Ron Paul. Unfortunately though, in our politics today, honesty and sincerity makes you unpopular. Outside of Paul, there isn't a single Republican or Democrat left. They're all members of the same party now ... the Party of Big Government.

If anyone would like to prove to themselves that there is only the big government party, start using the nndb.com mapper tool and you will see that the big corporations donate to RINOs big time. Often, you'll find abig shot who's donated to Bill Bradley, Cornyn, Bush, and Obama. Once you see how entangled/invested Republicans are in the big gov/big/business/big NGO triumvirate, you won't have any doubts that our country is being controlled by just a few influential people.
I was looking through some of the maps you've made. Very impressive!
Just looked at a few people on the NNDB maps. Obvious political leanings. Sort of a "what to think of this person" dossier.
I would include Michele Bachmann. But neither are true Republicans. At least not in the convoluted version we have today.
What would happen if they all started voting in step with Congressman Paul?
Freedom and prosperity.
[...] Don’t Kid Yourselves, Republicans Suck Too When Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) was on Chris Matthews’ show the other night, he refused to answer what he’d cut out the federal budget. A Congress of Ron Pauls is the banksters' worst nightmare. That's why they're working overtime to mock the Tea Party. They count on Congress voting their way, they pay for that to happen.
Mapping on nndb is easy and fun - Use your imagination and you will discover how people are connected.
For most Republicans I agree with you. But I trust Tom Coburn and I trust the candidates of the Club for Growth. If you have any knowledge that any of *those* good folks aren't trustworthy, I want to hear about it before election day.
If the GOP wins in 2010, holds the Congress and elects a POTUS in 2012, they just can't stop at undoing some of Obama's policies. Obama was able to do what he did because much of the infrastructure, ie, big government, was in place from before. Fedzilla needs radical surgery to remove the cancerous elements.
Unfortunately, history says they'll do nothing but grow the government even more. Call me a cynic, but I've gotta go by the evidence.
This reminds me of the famous Iowahawk post Return to sender:
http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2008/05/return-to-sende.html
about 1994 republicans.
You know what I say, Repeal it ALL! starting with the year 1913
So, you'd like to "undo" what Obama has done. So, that would mean...
-Go back to losing 750,000 jobs/month
-Go back to having a torture program
-Go back to starting illegal wars
-Go back to illegal spying on US citizens
-Go back to phony terror alert levels used as campaign tools
-Go back to the destruction of our image in the world
-Go back to unfunded mandates in education
-Go back to pre-existing conditions descrimination
Go back? Please. Can we possibly be that stupid?
[...] Don’t Kid Yourselves, Republicans Suck Too! [...]
This is ridiculous! Republicans know best, just accept it.
Recently I saw a painting by Jon McNaughton that reminded me of this. If you are a Republican and you are sick of people telling you things that aren’t true about America I highly recommend that you check out this painting.
Look at it and realize that America was founded on conservative values and not liberal ones.
