Thanks for this. I had quoted Mr. Strong a few months ago. He's as much bad news as Soros, if you ask me.
Maurice Strong's a monster.
Please people... While corporations gain in power and influence they destroy and rape us and our planet more and more. Their power en wishes are for a big part shaping the NWO. If there were no people like Soros and Strong there will never be international laws and institutions to put a halt to these mindless, profit generating corporate destroyers. Government and International government MUST be set up before a few big corporations take over the world with their own set of laws.
I don't agree with the science of IPCC but I agree whole heartedly with an institution that let polluting companies pay for their pollution. The whole free market without any interference is stupid. Of course I would also like to not have any laws enforced on me, but for ordinary people to help corporations to have no laws enforced on them is plain crazy.
And mind you, Maurice Strong is a Strong believer in the pursuit of profit. His goal was to clean up industrialized nations without impacting the chances for profit negatively.
So Maurice Strong, thank you for the Earth Charter and your contributions to the development of institutions that protect live and ecology.

Believe it or not, economic activity represents rational choice (even if it feeds irrational appetites). What you're advocating is ideological in nature, a worldview imposed from the outside, as opposed to the freedom CL refers to. What would a world of Bartism look like after a few weeks? Months? Far more nightmarish than you suspect.
CL called it right: "Pied Piper." Folks who control your emotional responses so easily could do nearly whatever they wanted to you. It would be far too late before you figured out you'd been had.

Maurice Strong Does not want people to think for themselves.He is definitely into promoting submission. I know a lot of people who think everbody should just lay down to the abuse of people like Maurice Strong. I cannot believe I ever knew any of these people because they are taking up positions promoting mass slaughter, and income redistribution, and they have to learn to accept the much deserved scorn they will receive for holding such views, which are damaging to society for a wide array of reasons on many different levels.
It is amazing how long they've gone on promoting this stuff without anyone even knowing their name.
I think that Maurice Strong is a mean, heartless monster. He fled to China after being found out about the global warming scandal. In the process he lied to many people and was inhumane about it. Him and his supporters/co-workers need to be stopped and brought to justice no matter what $ amount they have in front of their name. We cannot let $ buy everything. If it does, he will own us!

Wasn't he known already for trying to profit from a program to pump underground water and send it to the suburban Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo? And later after a study was conducted on the proposed project, the project was then opposed by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and National Park Service, both claiming it would cause significant environmental damages to nearby wetland and sand dune ecosystems? And in 2005, during investigations into the U.N.'s Oil-for-Food Programme, evidence procured by federal investigators and the U.N.-authorized inquiry of Paul Volcker showed that in 1997, while working for Annan, Strong had endorsed a check for $988,885, made out to "Mr. M. Strong," issued by a Jordanian bank. It was reported that the check was hand-delivered to Mr. Strong by a South Korean businessman, Tongsun Park, who in 2006 was convicted in New York federal court of conspiring to bribe U.N. officials to rig Oil-for-Food in favor of Saddam Hussein. During the inquiry, Strong stepped down from his U.N. post, stating that he would "sideline himself until the cloud was removed" And you think this guy Maurice Strong is looking out for everyone's safety and future? This guy is a complete fraud and he is EVIL to the core. The CIA should take him out. Even the MOSSAD and MI5 should do him in. He is dangerous. Why do you think he is hiding in China now? So that the U.S. and other Industrialized nations could not get to him.
