Let's say you're issued a dark-blue, State-issued costume with a badge. Does this give you more rights than say, your neighbor, or any other American for that matter?
How about a fancy State-issued title? Does the title Speaker of the House, Judge, or President give you special rights that other people don't have?
Rights are either a natural, inherent part of every human being, or they are given by the State. There's no room for nuance here, it's either nature (God) or the State.
Another way of asking the same question is: Who owns you? Does the State own you? Or do you own yourself?
Because only if the government owns you can they give you rights, and only if the government owns each one of us, can one person have more rights than another.
State-issued Costumes with a Badge
Everyone would like to support the police, after all, crime is a genuine problem. But when police start acting like lawless criminals themselves, "we the people" need to stand up and put a stop to it!
The police are not the authority, "we the people" are!
Police Kill 62-year old Peoria Man
A 62-year-old man was shot and killed by two Peoria police officers Monday night.
Officers responded to a family fight call at 7:15 p.m. in the 10600 block of Via Montoya, between Deer Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads, said Jay Davies, a Peoria Police Department spokesman.
Richard Allen Dodds, 62, was reportedly in an argument with his wife over finances when a family member called 911.
Dodds, who lived at the home with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, reportedly charged at officers with a baseball bat while inside the house, police said.
Davies said Dodds would not cooperate with commands, and officers feared for their lives.
Davies said one officer used a Taser on Dodds, and two other officers used lethal force, firing at Dodds.
Dodds was airlifted to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
Yes, 3 "trained" police officers couldn't subdue one 62-year old man, so they simply killed him! That's your government in action.
Now let me ask you another question: If you and 2 other people without State-issued costumes had shot and killed a man with a baseball bat in his own home, would you get a paid vacation ("paid leave") and walk away from the crime? Or would the 3 of you be hauled off to jail?
Of course, you'd be hauled off to jail! So what's the difference?
The above incident is still "under investigation," but let's face it ... Odds are these cops will walk free, and keep their jobs to boot!
Police have more rights than you. You don't own yourself.
Never Mind the Courts, Keep on Zappin’
Last month, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals appeared to restrict police officers’ use of Tasers, ruling that the stun guns should only be fired when the situation “compels the employment of such force.” Now, Taser International has given its version of what the court’s decision means: business as usual.
The Plaintiff, Carl Bryan, was standing outside his car, wearing boxer shorts and tennis shoes and was clearly unarmed. He was some 15-25 feet from the officer and not advancing towards him. His behavior was “disturbed and upset” or “erratic” – he was swearing and hitting himself — but not threatening.
Bryan had reason to be upset. Having been stopped earlier for speeding earlier, he had then forgotten to put his seat belt back on, and the police had just pulled him up for the offense of not wearing one. His the day had started with his discovery that his cousin’s girlfriend had gone off with his car keys. A simple mission to collect the keys so he could drive his brother home was turning into a nightmare…and that was before he was Tasered and broke four teeth in his fall.
The court rules that the use of force was excessive, based on three criteria – the severity of the crime, the level of threat, and the lack of resistance or attempts to flee.
Here, even though the courts ruled that the police did use excessive force, they plan to continue using their Taser on everything in sight.
Police have more rights than you. You don't own yourself.
Homeowner Arrested After Burglury
State police say two attempted burglary suspects are in jail, and the homeowner targeted in the break-in Thursday morning is charged with reckless endangerment after firing shots at their car.
There were no injuries in the incident on Akron Road.
Both suspects were confronted by Cherry, who had a Colt AR-15 rifle, investigators said.
Cherry reportedly detained Zsebhazy, while Cordero tried to escape in the vehicle.
The homeowner then proceeded to fire approximately 15 rounds from his rifle at the vehicle, according to the report.
Police said Cordero fled the area on foot and was caught by officers a short time later in the woods.
Too bad Mr. Cherry didn't have a State-issued dark-blue costume, uh?
Police have more rights than you. You don't own yourself.
We often argue about the special favors and special "rights" handed-out to politically-preferred groups, unions, corporations, and foreign governments ... But while "we the people" turn on each other over these politically created arguments, the State just continues to stomp all over each of our natural rights.
There's a reason the generations who founded our country limited the government. They wouldn't let a British soldier get away with 10% of what we allow the State-sponsored police to get away with these days ...
Unfortunately, we're too "smart" to listen to their reasoning.
But, but ... Times have changed!
Yeah, same as it ever was ...
