Candidate Barack Obama promised to put health care reform negotiations on C-SPAN. After all, since "we the people" pay for all this crap our Washington Overlords shove down our throats, you'd think we'd deserve to know what's going on.
But as anyone with half a brain knew, it was all a big fat lie from the beginning.
Obama Reneges on Health Care Transparency
"The House and Senate plan to put together the final health care reform bill behind closed doors according to an agreement by top Democrats," House Speaker Nanci Pelosi said today at the White House.
The White House is on board with that, too, reports CBS News political correspondent Chip Reid. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs stressed today that "the president wants to get a bill to his desk as quickly as possible."
Let me clarify. Obama did not renege, he LIED.

Despite their claims to the contrary, the way that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have handled the healthcare bill has been anything but transparent. And, if the left-wing blogosphere is to be believed, the two congressional leaders intend to keep the deliberations secret as they try to merge the House and Senate versions of the legislation into something that will pass both chambers.

Reminds me of the time Tapper coolly yet cruelly pressed Gibbs to defend Biden’s sub-moronic advice to New Yorkers about avoiding city subways during swine-flu season. There is, and can be, no defense here, and everyone in the room knows it. The point of asking is simply to make Gibbs look constipated — which, of course, it does. In fact, the best he can do by way of an answer is to mumble that The One wants a bill on his desk as soon as possible, an implicit admission that the White House is prepared to sacrifice all its gauzy promises about transparency on the altar of finally ramming this travesty through. But then, we already knew that.

This is corporatism in action folks. Until "we the people" take-away the ability of corporations and unions to fund politicians, it will only get worse. No matter who's in office!
Neither corporations or unions can vote, so they don't belong in the political process. Barry Goldwater warned of this almost 50 years ago ... but nobody listened (damn "fringe" candidate, we want a "winner").
