CNN reporter Susan Roesgen's abusive attack on Tea Party protestors last April 15, was only the beginning.  So sure of themselves, these days, the Arrogant Class is cuttin' loose!

At least it didn't work out for Roesgen.  Nice career you had, Susan Roesgen,
it's sure a shame what happened
...

Then we have Sen. Barbara Boxer (CA-D) gettin' snippy with Harry Alford, President, CEO and co-founder of the National Black Chamber of Commerce. The problem you see, is, uh ... well ... Alford disagrees with Sen. Boxer (gasp!), so she tried to "put him in his place."

Oh ... it gets better too! Boxer was not only rude and condescending toward Alford, she also proved to be racist! Using the classic 'foot-in-mouth' rotation, she proudly declares (emphasis added):

"[the black author of NAACP report] would be proud that [Alford is] here."

Then she just keeps on rollin' ... oh yeah ... Boxer lectures Alford:

about "differing opinions, in the black community.  Just as their are in my community."

What a b-word.  Identitly politics is a tradgedy. It pits people against people. It's Condescending and Godawful.  Video below.

Government squashes Nantucket Tea Party:

The organizers were all set. They were given permission by the Town’s head of Park and Recreation. After the local paper publicized the event, some members of the Nantucket Park and Recreation Commission decided to forget about the First Amendment. One local official was quoted as saying “we don’t want politics on Main Street.” Apparently the head of Park and Recreation was overruled by the commissioners.

WaPo's Sally Quinn Blames Sarah Palin For Sexist Letterman Attacks:

The Sally Quinns of the world were given cachet because liberals like Ben Bradlee got to do whatever the hell they pleased with their power in the media and there wasn't a damn thing the rest of the country could do as one conservative after another from Barry Goldwater to Ronald Reagan to Robert Bork to Clarence Thomas, Dan Quayle, Miguel Estrada, and on and on right up to today's Sarah Palin were trashed. And I do mean trashed. They were painted as idiots, warmongers, bigots, boobs, religious fanatics, wild-eyed zealots, racists, sexual harassers, and God only knows what else. This kind of garbage was bannered and blared unchallenged from every one of the three major networks, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek and the rest of the liberal acolyte media organs. For decades.

Liberals Are Delightful, Sweet People (emphasis added):

A majority of young people still approve of Obama’s job performance, but a majority of seniors over 64 now don’t (54%). Maybe they’ll die before the next election.

Los Angeles Times: Tea Parties are 'Un-American' (emphasis added):

The Los Angeles Times did get a chance to attack everyday citizens as "un-American." These are people who took time away from their July 4th community and family events to protest the oppressive Obama administration in Washington. Columnist Chris Erskine spends most of his essay ridiculing local speakers as circus clowns, but he can't resist the radical smear:

It's not like Americans don't have cause for concern. The day before, the state of California began issuing IOUs. Suddenly, California seems one rusty tank from becoming a banana republic.

Thing is, we're all slicing the ham a little thinner these days -- Republicans and Democrats. Many of us, the ones who are working, don't know how long the job is going to last.

Folks without work have it far worse. They look at the calendar and wonder when . . . when will the phone ring? . . . when can I sleep through the night again without being eaten alive by worry?

Have you looked at a dollar bill lately? George Washington is weeping.

In such a climate, it strikes me as . . . well, almost un-American to be griping so vehemently about helping those less fortunate. Were this a war, we'd all dig a little deeper to buy guns and battleships.

Leftist Haters Sink to Depths as Tea Party Movement Shines:

“Mandatory Vaccinations Are Constitutional/Legal”:

Indeed, the caller was weak on his points, and could have/should dunked the state worker many times over, but he seemed not to have proper points in order.

I’m surprised this issue is gathering very little resistance from libertarians on the web. I hear little chatter on such a vital subject. The health complications from this vaccination, for people who suffer from cancer, autoimmune disorders, other diseases, etc., could be significant. Meanwhile, Time magazine is preparing people to trust their government.

When the Hippies Became the Establishment, or, When Freedom Became Unpopular? (emphasis added):

When my generation came of age in the ’70s, the ideas from the ’60s had become institutionalized. I didn’t buy into the whole cache of catchy phrases except the one about “questioning authority.” That one I could identify with. As far back as I could remember, I loved the very idea of free speech and the fact that we as individuals could challenge our government.

My youthful embrace of the American Dream was rooted in the truth that anything was possible if you worked for it and that freedom was the most precious commodity that this nation had to offer. The political elites in Washington are shopping the polar opposite these days. Thanks to the dual re-education forces of media and Madison Avenue, dependence on big government and politically correct thinking are the latest fads sweeping the nation ...

Somewhere along the way, the radicals of the Sixties became the very essence of all that they despised. Questioning authority is no longer tolerated by the intolerant Left; in fact, dissent is just an Executive Order away from becoming an outlawed activity.

What the heck happened on the way home from Woodstock? These same anti-establishment hippies turned into ‘the man’ and now they’re hell bent on growing a government even more sinister, secretive, and powerful than the one they sought to overthrow back in the ’60s ...

For me, it’s always been about freedom ... the type of freedom as is protected by the Constitution. Today everything I believe in is at risk because the enemies within are in control of the government ...

AGW Couldn’t Be About Governance, Could It?:

But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements. -  Al Gore, July 7, 2009 in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times.

Oh ... why not ... Let's throw a 'Planetary Regime' Czar in, too! Yea!!!!!

President Obama’s top science and technology advisor John P. Holdren co-authored a 1977 book in which he advocated the formation of a “planetary regime” that would use a “global police force” to enforce totalitarian measures of population control, including forced abortions, mass sterilization programs conducted via the food and water supply, as well as mandatory bodily implants that would prevent couples from having children.

The concepts outlined in Holdren’s 1977 book Ecoscience, which he co-authored with close colleagues Paul Ehrlich and Anne Ehrlich, were so shocking that a February 2009 Front Page Magazine story on the subject was largely dismissed as being outlandish because people couldn’t bring themselves to believe that it could be true.

The media is soooo in the tank for Obama, BIG TIME!  I don't know whether they're actually willing accomplices, or just complete useful idiots.

Reporter: 'We Took Sides, Straight and Simple' Against Palin (emphasis added):

... long-time White House reporter Carl Cannon bluntly declared that the political press gave Sarah Palin a raw deal in the 2008 campaign, and seriously failed to scrutinize Joe Biden, especially his fact-mangling and odd statements in the vice presidential debate. Cannon summed up:

In the 2008 election, we took sides, straight and simple, particularly with regard to the vice presidential race. I don't know that we played a decisive role in that campaign, and I'm not saying the better side lost. What I am saying is that we simply didn't hold Joe Biden to the same standard as Sarah Palin, and for me, the real loser in this sordid tale is my chosen profession.

And to top it all off ...  Obama Green Jobs Czar is a Crazy Commie Freak from Hell!

The administration’s “Green Jobs” czar, Van Jones, has a “very checkered past” deep-rooted in radical politics, including black nationalism, anarchism, and communism. The broadcast network newscasts have mostly failed to report on Mr. Jones’s past political affiliations which are lock-step with the network’s downplay of coverage regarding President Obama’s associations with the former radical and terrorist William Ayers during the election.

At 6:47 a.m. EDT on the July 10 edition of “Fox and Friends,” Americans for Prosperity Policy Director Phil Kerpen, told interviewer Brian Kilmeade that Jones is “somebody who was involved in radical politics in San Francisco, “who was self-admittedly “radicalized in jail” and found “Communism and anarchism.” Kerpen compares Van Jones’s Communist past with his new quest for environmentalism and the creation of green jobs:

I think it’s pretty instructive what his past is...it’s the same sort of philosophy, the idea that government ought to be reordering society in accordance with some utopian vision that failed with communism and socialism, and will fail with this green jobs idea.

Strange days, indeed.

    Aaron,

She’s patronizing right from the start of the video. Alford’s I’m sure, is quite sick and tired of being talked down to like a child dealing with an ornery nun. Then add the “your community” and “my community” stuff, and it’s simply horrendous!

  • Question of context: Does Boxer commit the logical fallacy of relevance: appeal to authority by bringing racially affiliated endorsement, or did Alford open that door earlier? In the video, Barbara Boxer displays characteristic grace under extreme pressure. Harry Alford is graceless, unduly belligerent, blustering hypersensitive and abusive. Worst, however, is that they seem to be debating entirely at cross purposes. What, actually, was the question? It seems that Boxer defends the political viability of her plan, while Alford questions the science. -Science, however, that Boxer contends is oil company backed.
