Sarah Palin endorses Rand Paul, and Paul Derangement Syndrome goes epidemic!
Just as the left mischaracterized Sarah Palin, those with Paul Derangement Syndrome (PDS), mischaracterize both Ron and Rand Paul. It's just pathetic.
PDS Outbursts
I would expect such nonsense like this to come out of the mouth of a neophyte left-wing State worshiper, but not from a so-called conservative. You can read Rand Paul's position on abortion here. His father Ron Paul, is the ONLY politician with a principled, constitutional plan to overturn Roe v. Wade.
If you have to resort to lies and exaggeration to make your case, you don't have one. Period. Disagreement is one thing. Disagreement is healthy. But bogus lies cause more harm to the conservative movement than anything the left could dream up!
The remaining examples of PDS (for now), come from both the commenters and author of this post at Red State: Palin endorses Rand Paul in KY Senate race????
Good luck telling the paultards and Buchanites why they have to tolerate non-pure REpublicans over their cranks and losers.
We can already tell what magnitude of brain power was used to write this post. None. I read statements like this from so-called conservatives all the time, and it makes me want to denounce the movement for good. Not just denounce however, but to become its enemy!
The only reason I don't, is because my conservatism is based in philosophy, not politics.
... and confusing crank Constiutuional Literalism with correct Constitutional Originalism.
A statement straight out of the Statist playbook! Think about it ...
We are suppose to beleive that the son of the Paul is now all the sudden not going to turnaround once elected and Trash the GOP constantly and claim they are “Traitors” over prudent things like the Patriot Act, NSA, War on Terror ...
Now we're getting somewhere ... This attack isn't about conservatism, it's about the Republican Party. Well, from my point of view, conservatism trumps the Republican Party every time!
And heaven forbid, a conservative questions the authority and intentions of our Dear Leaders! Russell Kirk said a conservative is always skeptical of power ... But then again, what does Kirk know about conservatism ...
What I CANNOT abide is a bat$#!t crazy conspiracy theory lunatic, anti-free trade, fringe anti-war nutjob who, if he agrees with his father whom he’s obviously borrowing his platform, thinks the fed is loaning money to the CIA to to assassinations and that’s “why they hate us.”
Um, that statement is crazier than even the wildest conspiracy theory I've ever read! Ron and Rand Paul anti-free trade? OMG!
anti-free trade, because the trade is never “free” enough.
And if he’s not anti-war, he shouldn’t have thrown in with the entire anti-war left on nearly every issue that’s come before Congress.
This is why I cannot stress enough the importance of a proper education in economics. NAFTA for example, is NOT free trade! NAFTA is planned trade. Big difference!
Ron Paul did vote in favor of attacking Afghanistan after the 9/11, but this is a little piece of information some people who love war (because it takes place on TV) prefer to ignore. Sorry, but war isn't a left vs. right phenomena. Prior to attacking Iraq, about one-quarter of the Republican base was against it! War is much more complicated than a simple left vs. right divide.
And btw, representatives are sent to Washington to represent their constituents, NOT the Republican Party.
He share’s his father’s views on the Fed (which is unfortunate, but irrelevant, since he’s in the overwhelming minority on that view) ...
79% Now Favor Auditing the Fed. Quite the "minority" view ... But what is the Fed exactly?
The Federal Reserve is a central planner who operates outside and above the authority of the people's representatives in Washington. It is also a central planning machine that has stolen 96 cents of every American dollar.
Did I miss a memo or something? Do conservatives now love the State and central planning?
That's enough for now ... But I think you get the point.
Support other candidates if you feel they are better. Fine. But to mischaracterize, name call, and support central planning ... doesn't help anyone on the right. Not at all!
Fallout From Sarah Palin’s Kentucky Senate Endorsement of Rand Paul
It seems that Palin has a libertarian streak that some of her supporters hadn’t reckoned with, and takes her “maverick” brand seriously.
Personally, I doubt any conservative who hates libertarians, even knows what it is they hate.
Please, if you can share with me what conservatives don't like about the libertarian view regarding the role of government, please comment. I just ask that you stay consistent with conservative philosophy, and avoid Team Republican talking points.
Thanks.

I think Libertarians and Conservatives have much in common when it comes to positions and issues – where we differ is in some of the principles that are the foundation of those positions and issues.
In the end, I’d trust a libertarian over a liberal if both agreed with me on an issue. I haven’t looked at Rand, so I have no opinion on his race. And I am not yet ready to give Palin the power of accepting her analysis at face value. But the fact she has endorsed him suggests I should at least find out more.
When we focus on philosophy, there is very little for libertarians and conservatives to argue about. It’s when we focus on talking points – conservative=pro-war, libertarian=libertine – that it all falls apart.
“We the people” must find our way back together … We attack each other more ferociously than we attack the ever-growing State! Conservatism and libertarianism were born from the same classical liberal womb. We should treat each other as such … Different people, but brothers and sisters none the less.
Perhaps this is a variant of SBD … dyslexic blogger syndrome. Seriously, shouldn’t it be PDS?
ROTFLMAO! Good catch, I’ll correct that!
