It's when we focus on talking points - conservative=pro-war, libertarian=libertine - that it all falls apart. "We the people" must find our way back together ... We attack each other more ferociously than we attack the ever-growing State! Conservatism and libertarianism were born from the same classical liberal womb. We should treat each other as such ... Different people, but brothers and sisters none the less. When we focus on philosophy, there is very little for libertarians and conservatives to argue about. In the end, I'd trust a libertarian over a liberal if both agreed with me on an issue. I haven't looked at Rand, so I have no opinion on his race. And I am not yet ready to give Palin the power of accepting her analysis at face value. But the fact she has endorsed him suggests I should at least find out more.
