In matters of power let no more be heard of the confidence in man but bind them down from mischief by the chains of the constitution. - Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson had one of the greatest minds in all of history. Both an intellect and pioneer, he is one of the most important and influential thinkers on individualism and natural rights, from which he helped build the foundations of freedom we take for granted today. America is the freest, most prosperous nation humanity has ever known. Ya think maybe we should start listening to his advice again?
It is neither loyal nor strategic, to "hold your nose" and vote for "the party," or to vote for the "lesser evil," hoping to keep that "really bad" guy out. All it really is, is the "faith in man" Jefferson warned us about (just wrapped in a different blanket). So Democrat, Republican, whatever ... let me hear no more about the confidence in man!
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), is up to a lot more than just election fraud. It is an intricate political machine with radically-left intentions. This is not a conspiracy, it is real!
Update (06/20/09): The firing of Inspector General Gerald Walpin is linked to all this too. There's no question about it, and many on the "right" think they've found Obama's achilles heal too. But I tend to agree with Monique Stuart, who says of the Lastest Victim of Obama and Chicago Politics:
... the cynic in me is not as hopeful as some others I have spoken to. Barack Obama is worse than John Gotti, the original “Teflon Don.” He’s untouchable.
The media establishment is only willing to report stories about him that are positive or promote his policy agenda (re: All Obama Channel). The most devastating story reported about the guy up until now is that he killed a fly. And, they attributed that to the special abilities presidents must have (think G.W. dodging two shoes in a row). Apparently, not only is he a God, but he’s an effing ninja, too. As the opposition, how do you deal with that?
I’m not as hopeful that this will result in his downfall because, in my limited experience, Democrats can get away with anything. A republican has an affair and it’s the end of their career. A Democrat receives oral sex in the Oval Office and it’s the Republicans who come off stinking from the scandal (”They’re just obsessed with sex!). Teddy Kennedy killed a woman. He’s still praised today. His son, Patrick, drove into a barrier at 3 a.m. claiming he was late for a vote. They drove him home without administering any DUI tests and allowed him to claim that he was on Ambien, with numerous reports that he was drinking at the Hawk & Dove (a well know watering spot for people on the Hill), earlier. Didn’t he just check into rehab, again, this week? I guess that’s what RI expects from their elected representatives.
Yep!

Monique also offers some valuable wisdom (emphasis added):
... but I’m sick of putting all of the blame on politicians when they couldn’t be where they are and wielding the power they wield if it wasn’t for American citizens granting them that power ... [apparantly] most Americans are just waiting for their own personal bailout, as if that bailout is coming from some fairy Godmother and not some young woman who has worked her butt off her whole life just to make a better life for herself ... I’m just sayin’.
Let us hear no more of confidence in man!

They ARE a crime syndicate!
These types of organizations pose a serious threat to our country, yet apparantly, this isn’t even a major “issue.” We sure see little coverage, that’s for sure. I say good job to Glenn Beck for taking on the important topics nobody else will discuss!
We’re talking billions of taxpayer dollars, rigged elections, the staging of all sorts of unwarranted protests (for political purposes) … and Obama just fired the IG for looking into it all!
But what has the State Media been covering? Laura Ingrahm said Mehgan McCain was fat, and spending time vilifying Carrie Prejean’s honest, straightforward answer, to a beauty contest.
ACORN is a slippery outfit. They are skilled and practiced at avoiding accountability.
They operate like a crime syndicate, so the only people who ever get caught violating a law appear to be “nobodys,” ignorant, unemployed, uneducated drones.
