Take a moment with me here ... step outside your political box, take a deep-breath, and participate in this simple, 2-question thought experiment.
Question #1:
In Michigan (for example), if you would like to cut my hair and have me pay you for doing so, you must first get "license." To get this license, you have to:
- Go to cosmetology school.
- Complete 1500 hours of training and/or work 2 full years as an apprentice in a licensed establishment.
- Apply for a license with the State of Michigan.
- Take and pass Michigan's state board written and practical exams.
Since we require such high standards of people who simply wish to cut hair, shouldn't we then at the very least, require the following of anyone running for public political office?
- At least 1500 hours of school, memorizing the details of Madison's Federalist Papers and Jefferson's Kentucky Resolutions. And studying the American Revolution, Constitutional Convention, and all other directly related topics.
- Take and pass citizen-board sponsored written and practical exams.
Question 2:
The second question I wanted to pose in our thought experiment, has to do with taxes and "stimulus." I've brought this subject up before, but not in the form of a question.
As I was surfing the inner-tubes, giving myself a few more minutes of randomness before digging into the subject to research it (procrastinating), it must have been kismet ... because I happened across the following video, in which the question is posed for me!
And let's be honest here ... Michelle is way hotter than I am! It's not even a contest. In other words, I'm sure you'll enjoy the video much more than my (sometimes endless) rambling.
I love it when a plan comes together!
Please provide your answers in the comments section below. This could be interesting!
H/T to The Club for Growth for brining this great video to our attention (rebeleconomist).

It’s criminal … a pure criminal enterprise!
Great post….
Every day that goes by, the ‘stimulus’ bill is showing itself the scam that it is.
aaa,
You know … as much as I appreciate you for reading and commenting here on theCL, and would enjoy “giving back” … let’s be real here!
If I somehow get that number, I’ll be keeping it for myself!
I was getting ready to marshal my arguments…..you know – marginal propensity to save or consume, multiplier effect, an such.
Then I just though, hey, Classic! Can you get me her phone number!!!
wow..good idea..the government has proven over and over again..they cant keep a budget..but i can spend my money better than they can. and hey if we do the people’s stimulus we wont devalue the dollar more..good stuff as always…
