Speaking the Language of BarackAll politicians use a bunch of hyperbole in their speeches, however, Barack Obama is especially particular in choosing his words.  His methods are precise.  His words are chosen to drum up specific emotions - fear, pain, anger ... then promise.  Since the mainstream media is too busy chasing down librarians in Alaska, let me take you on a walk through Obama's political upbringing ... the roots ... of Obama's Revolution.

Eighteen months ago, nobody knew anything about the rookie senator from Illinois. Today, Obama has become the "rock star" of politics.  How did this obscure, young politicians star rise so fast?

Barack Obama is executing a well organized, tactical plan.  His strategy is that of the 1960's master manipulator Saul Alinsky.  So, to understand the context of what Barack Obama is talking about, we need to learn about Alinsky, and how he helped to shape Obama's mind.

Saul Alinsky was a radical Marxist who condemned the New Left's over-the-top demonstrations and flower child attitudes.  Alinsky believed the best way to overturn American culture, was by gaining power and changing it from the inside out.  The revolution needed to be carried out through stealth and deception. Chicago mobsters, Wall Street capitalists, and Democrat politicians all fell under his spell.

It was Saul Alinsky who's mantra was "change".  Alinsky is also the father of the "community organizer", a euphemism he used for master agitator.  He taught that people needed to be agitated in order to convince them they were miserable and powerless.  As told in the American Thinker:

The agitator's job, according to Alinsky, is first to bring folks to the "realization" that they are indeed miserable, that their misery is the fault of unresponsive governments or greedy corporations, then help them to bond together to demand what they deserve, and to make such an almighty stink that the dastardly governments and corporations will see imminent "self-interest" in granting whatever it is that will cause the harassment to cease.

Saul Alinsky detailed his doctrine for change in his book Rules for Radicals. He opens the book with the following dedication (emphasis added):

From all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins - or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom - Lucifer.

The purpose of "Rules for Radicals" is detailed in the book as well (emphasis added):

In this book we are concerned with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people; to realize the democratic dream of equality, justice, peace.... "Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees." This means revolution. p.3

A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism." p.10

An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth - truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing ... To the extent that he is free from the shackles of dogma, he can respond to the realities of the widely different situations or society presents." p.10-11

At 23 years old, Barack Obama went to work for the Developing Communities Project, built on Alinsky's revolutionary platform.  As the Canada Free Press tells us:

It is a fact that activist-cum senator Barack Hussein Obama started off his career as an activist with a position as a community organizer for the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious conference (CCRC) in Chicago. Both the CCRC and the DCP were built on the Alinsky model of community agitation, wherein paid organizers learned, in Alinsky's own words, how to "rub raw the sores of discontent".

Mike Kruglik, and early teacher of Obama's in the Alinsky method, had the following to say about his star pupil:

He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue ... probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.

Saul Alinsky was the subject of Hillary Clinton's college thesis, which was blocked from public view for 8 years, however, it is available today in pdf format from GOPublius.  A couple snippets from Hillary's thesis on Saul Alinsky (emphasis added):

For Saul Alinsky is more than a man who has created a particular approach to community organizing, he is the articulate proponent of what many consider to be a dangerous socio/political philosophy. p.6

The organizer plays a significant role in precipitating and directing a community's conflict pattern. As Alinsky views this role, the organizer is

...dedicated to changing the character of life of a particular community [and] has an initial function of serving as an abrasive agent to rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; to fan latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expressions... to provide a channel into which they can pour their frustration of the past; to create a mechanism which can drain off underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time.

When those who represent the status quo label you [i.e. the community organizer] as an 'agitator' they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function--to agitate to the point of conflict. p.13

At the end of her thesis, Hillary basically states that Saul Alinsky should not be feared, because he's just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Yeah ... and Joseph Stalin is just like Mickey Mouse.

In my summary, I'd like to leave you with the words of L. David Alinsky, son of Saul, as he wrote in the Boston Globe, August 31, 2008, in praise of the Democrat National Convention (emphasis added):

ALL THE elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situations and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd's chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda by the power people. The Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style.

It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.

P.S. - Barack Obama has earned a very special endorsement - The Communist Party USA!
