Too funny.
Al Franken, comedian turned liberal talk show host turned senator, ripped into White House senior adviser David Axelrod during a tense, closed-door session with Democrats.
And I'm gonna help people! Because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and, doggonit, people like me! - Stuart Smalley
Al Franken vs. David Axelrod over healthcare
Up for some Dem on Dem action? I knew that you were. Yesterday, I told you there were some angry voices over healthcare after Obama’s dog and pony show with the Dems. Well, it turns out that the most irate Senator was none other than Stuart Smalley himself Al Franken. Apparently, Franken flipped out on David Axelrod because Obama won’t lead on healthcare reform.

How's Al Franken?
Brown's election may have prevented the national disaster known as the Democratic health care bills. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has killed the national disaster known as cap-and-trade. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has neutralized Al Franken's role as the 60th Democratic vote. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has caused Franken to turn his foul temper on the Obama administration:
Sen. Al Franken ripped into White House senior adviser David Axelrod this week during a tense, closed-door session with Senate Democrats.
Five sources who were in the room tell POLITICO that Franken criticized Axelrod for the administration’s failure to provide clarity or direction on health care and the other big bills it wants Congress to enact....
A Democratic source said that Franken directed his criticism solely at Axelrod. “It was all about leadership and health care and what the plan was going to be,” the source said.
Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion: How's That Al Franken Going?
Americans don't want progressivism. Americans don't want socialized health care.
It's that simple.
Pass ObamaCare, or You Deserve to Lose!
From tonight’s fundraiser. You have to read between the lines, but you don’t have to read too hard.
“If Congress decides we’re not going to do it, even after all the facts are laid out, all the options are clear, then the American people can make a judgment as to whether this Congress has done the right thing for them or not. And that’s how democracy works, with the elections coming up. And they will be able to make a determination, and register their concerns one way or the other during election time.”
Percentage of Americans who think Congress is/isn’t doing “the right thing for them” by passing this bill: 38/51. You might think that a guy who sees catastrophe on the horizon if this doesn’t get done would be bringing every ounce of presidential power he has to bear on making sure that it does. But you would be wrong:
“The president was weighing in pretty heavily on the discussions between the House and Senate before the Massachusetts special [Senate] election,” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) told Huffington Post. “It’s dried up since.”…
Hot Air: Obama hints to Dems: If you don’t pass ObamaCare, you deserve to lose the midterms
Their socialized health care scheme is falling apart, the Democrat super-majority is gone, Democrats are at each others throats, and Stuart Smalley, er, Al Franken, is raging mad!
Good.

I think there are two sides of the Democrats in this debate. Part of them think we need health care reform, but would have been satisfied with a much smaller piece of legislation. One that would not intrude so greatly into the personal decisions of the America people and one that would not have included the mandates. The other part is a firm believer in this legislation and would have taken it even further, had they been given the chance. The second part sees their chances of ramming this down our throats slipping further and further away and they can't stand it.
I think you're right! There's still a number of old school Democrats who are still way too Big Government for me, but aren't in line with the heavy progressivism either.
Plus ... all those Democrats who don't want to get voted out of office this November!
