Imagine what Thomas Jefferson would think of this scene.
Yesterday, we reviewed the story of a man shot in his own home by police who had broken in. We've looked at others like it too ...
There's the horrifying story about cops tasering an 86 year-old bedridden woman, the newlywed charged with a felony for rushing his pregnant wife to the hospital, the man who received felony charges for sending an email to a Senator ... examples of police brutality and State aggression are endless.
Now, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is getting involved ... sort of.
Clarence Thomas' Nephew Tasered in Hospital Scuffle
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' epileptic nephew suffered a massive seizure after being beaten and hit with a stun gun during a scuffle at a New Orleans area hospital, his family said.
Derek Thomas, 25, was admitted to West Jefferson Hospital on Thursday after what some news outlets described as a possible suicide attempt. When orderlies asked Thomas to put on a hospital gown, he refused and tried to flee the facility. That's when security guards stepped in, and a scuffle ensued.
One of the guards punched Thomas, pulled out his hair and them shocked him with a Taser, the patient's sister, Kimberly Thomas, wrote in an e-mail to ABC News. Because of the fight, Thomas suffered a serious seizure, she said.
The Supreme Court justice is heading to New Orleans to investigate the incident himself, local TV station WDSU reported. It did not give details or timing of his trip. A Supreme Court spokesman said the justice had no comment on the matter.
Kimberly Thomas told WDSU that she's "sickened" by the incident. "I'm sickened by it because my brother is a college student and a small business owner who has not been in any trouble," she said. "He's not violent and yet this is how they are treating someone."
What? Hospital security guards? You've got to be kidding me ... Perhaps this is a glimpse into our future. After all, the cops who shot Michael Housley went to his home per hospital request. Welcome to your socialized health care nightmare.
But wait, there's more!
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police beat a pregnant woman trying to get medication to a friend who was suffering from a seizure. Her unborn child was killed.
Police beating led to miscarriage, lawsuit says
In a lawsuit filed June 24 in U.S. District Court, Dixon claims officer Scott Childers struck, kicked and used a chemical spray on her when he arrested her on charges of obstructing medics and resisting law enforcement ... After the beating, Dixon claims, she miscarried.
Dixon's suit claims she was trying to take medicine to a friend being treated by medics for a seizure when Childers stopped her in front of her home ...
Dixon told Childers she was pregnant, but the officer beat her anyway, according to the suit.
Childers said Dixon was interfering with medics who were trying to assist the injured woman ... ignored orders to go back inside her house and began screaming and cursing.
Childers reported that he told Dixon she was under arrest. She refused to cooperate ... so Childers placed Dixon in an arm lock and struck her leg with his knee, "causing her to fall from the small porch into the front yard."
Dixon continued resisting in the front yard ... so Childers "administered several empty hand strikes to Dixon's shoulder and arm area with no effect."
He then used chemical spray to subdue Dixon, the report said. Another officer arrived and helped Childers handcuff Dixon.
You bet LaDonna Dixon was "screaming and cursing." I sure wouldn't get in the way of a "Mama Grizzly" in an emergency situation, would you? Not a chance! Dixon had the right medicine in her hands, but they refused to listen, then beat her down to boot. Why? To keep Dixon from helping her friend.
Dixon told the cop she was pregnant too, but officer Scott Childers didn't find it necessary to include the pregnancy in his report. Why? I can only guess. Probably because his "empty hand strikes," were more like "severe brutal blows."
America was once the "land of the free" ... Now it's the "land of militant cops and Authoritarian State." I hope these types of cases start getting more attention soon, sparking a larger (much needed) debate on the proper limits on government and its use of force.

Now that I've switched browsers, I can comment here all the time.
These are scary examples of what is to come. I've been noting that Obama and crew didn't have to go far in their "transformation." Most of the mechanism was already in place when he was inaugurated. It would seem that a nasty police force would be part of that.
Soon people will begin to see that those who were once thought servants of the people are really the masters of the people.
Reducing us to slaves and deciding whats in our best interests.
There will be far more bloodshed, terror, and horrors committed by the oppressive state.
The Totalitarian Police State is amongst us.
