TAX HIKE FOR MIDDLE CLASS

theCL  2009-08-03  Myth, Socialism

"Here is what I can tell the American people: 95 percent of you will get a tax cut."
- Sen. Barack Obama

Everything he said during the campaign, simply didn't add up. But then again, we knew it was a lie from the beginning.  The truth is that Obama's "tax cut" was an illusion.  Now here they are ... bringing on, the middle class tax hikes!

George Stephanopoulos with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Because when you look at health care reform again-I know you believe it's going to bend the cost curve over time. But the Congressional Budget office says, at best, the health care reform plans out there are going to be deficit-neutral over the next ten years. So to bring the deficits down, there is not enough money in the discretionary budget, we all know that. That means more revenues. The President has said that taxes won't go up for any Americans earning under $250,000, but it doesn't appear that he's going to be able to keep that promise if you're going to bring the deficits down.

GEITHNER: George, we can't make these judgments yet about what exactly it's going to take and we're going to get there. But the very important thing, and no one is going to care about this more than the President of the United States, is for people to understand that we do not have a choice as a country, that if we want an economy that is going to grow in the future, people have to understand that we have to bring those deficits down. And it's gonna, it's going to difficult - hard for us to do and the path to that is through health care reform. But that's necessary but not sufficient. We [are] going to do some other things too.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So revenues are on the table, as well?

GEITHNER: Again, we're not at the point yet where we're going to make a judgment about what it's going to take. But the important thing...

STEPHANOPOULOS: But you're not ruling it out, you can't rule it out.

GEITHNER: I think what the country needs to do is understand we're going to have to do what it takes, we're going to do what's necessary.

The above quote is a perfect example of what is called foreshadowing, a process whereby you present a suggestion of something beforehand.

In a mystery novel, the author gives you bits and pieces as the story unfolds, things that will be important later. Another way of saying it is, to "warm you up" for something. For example, when you suddenly show an interest in playing your girlfriends favorite music, she knows you're really just foreshadowing something else.

Foreshadowing is also used in sales and politics is of course, sales. What the Obama Administration and the rest of the Democratic Party is doing right now, is launching the "Foreshadow Campaign to Butter-You-Up" ... then you can "feel their pain" when they propose middle-class tax hikes, something which they had planned for all along.

A Closer Look:

As you read the following transcript, it'll quickly become obvious that this entire production, was indeed a carefully scripted act.  As Lance Fairchok noted in "Softening up the Middle Class for the Coming Tax Hike" (emphasis added):

When Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner appeared on George Stephanopoulos' program "This Week" on ABC, every question and every response had been carefully rehearsed beforehand. The interview was a performance. As most Americans understand the word, Stephanopoulos is not a journalist, he is a political operative and an agent of influence disguised as a commentator. He shapes perceptions and plants ideas agreed upon and scripted within the Democrat Star Chamber for very specific purposes.

In this case, the administration is preparing the public for the reversal of a promise they never intended to keep. The President will soon move to raise taxes on the middle class. If Obama's Socialist agenda is to succeed, deficits must go down. Next year's estimated deficit of 1.8 trillion dollars, fueled by stimulus and health care "reform" is unsustainable and will be catastrophic for the economy. Within a few days, you will hear the Democrat allied press preparing the public using themes of sacrifice and citizenship. By the time the announcement happens, commentators and pundits will have made paying higher taxes our civic duty and a moral imperative.

The truth is that it's impossible to fund the Obama Socialist Machine without taxing the middle-class a lot more.  Fairchock finishes with this (emphasis added):

It was inevitable that the Democrats would tap into the enormous resource of middle class America. It's their version of "drill here, drill now." The trillions poured into the congressional black hole of fraud, waste and corruption is not enough. It takes a great deal of money to build the socialist Shangri-la Obama and his minions believe in. It takes the very lifeblood of American commerce and freedom. What do peasants need money for anyway?

More foreshadowing from Obama's chief economic advisor Larry Summers:

Bob Schieffer asked National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers if taxes could be raised for middle-income Americans.

"There is a lot that can happen over time," Summers said. "It is never a good idea to absolutely rule things out no matter what."

Yes, higher taxes are coming ... The Washington Overlords don't think you're turning enough of your income over to them, so they're now softening you for another round of increased looting.

This so-called health care bill is really nothing more than an excuse to raise taxes and enact tyranny.  They'll raise our taxes hoping to fund their monstrosity.  When that doesn't work (which it won't), the government will  turn to their next plan, involuntary euthanasia of the elderly.

We got change alright ...It's just that there ain't no hope to go along with it.

America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (HR 3200):

As explained on lines 4 through 8 of page 59 of the bill, several measures will be implemented ... explained on lines 21 through 24 as follows: “(C) enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice.”

If you shudder at the thought of Uncle Sam’s henchmen digging through your bank accounts and lifting funds as they see fit, ACT NOW! CONTACT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS in Washington, D.C., and demand they oppose this dangerous and costly legislation.

This sould tell you how good their need to tax you health care plan is. Congress doesn't want anything to do with it themselves! Our Rulers are apparently too important to take such chance.

"In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happened, you can bet it was planned that way." - Franklin Deleano Roosevelt

The middle class, what’s left of it, will be taxed by this administration because taxing the rich can’t pay for all these pitiful programs the Left want to pass.
They will not be happy until Big Brother is controlling our every move.

… but to me to make more money is lower tax not up it

Ah, but that isn’t what this is about. This is all about power. And I agree about the media too. It’s like living in a virtual 1984 or something. You just want to wake-up and get out of the matrix.

But, raise their taxes during a recession, and you knock quite a few of them off-right into government assistance that they will, of course, not want to lose.

    Right. By design.

That’s why I’m sick and tired of this “unintended consequences” b.s. I’m not talking constituents, for the most part they do have good intentions. But the bunch in Washington and in our state capitals, it’s time “we the people” start calling out the bad apples by name.

You nailed it! I’ve been waiting for this for the last few months. Honestly, I thought it wouldn’t be until the end of the year, but these are trial balloons being sent up now.

The left hates the middle class. The greenies hate the middle class. People that can “make it” on their own are a problem for the left-they have no use for big government! But, raise their taxes during a recession, and you knock quite a few of them off-right into government assistance that they will, of course, not want to lose. At least that’s the theory.

This is a pre-planned response to the crisis they created by causing the deficit to explode.

Thanks. I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one thinking about this.
