My concern is that when we get all these new and inspired conservatives in Washington the establishment Republicans are going to try co-opt them. Get them in line with their way of seeing things and play the game. The solution is with the states. The states need to stand up and push back. The states need to come togther and rein in the federal government.
Of course they are. Here's what's going to happen:

Just remember to blog about how I called it as it all comes true!
The problem is the system itself, state politics are hard to follow, states don't have representation in Washington. I'm with you that every solution is local, but unless they're willing to nullify and/or secede, there's not much our state governments can do.
But nothing good happens unless "We the People" keep ourselves properly educated, which is what this post is about. Co-opting new members will be the least of your concerns when the dollar blows.
"states don’t have representation in Washington"
And therefore...? Not a Republic. Along with a few other glaring Constitutional inconsistencies as well.
I have this question--given that the Constitution calls for one representatative for every 10,000 people and that such a number of representatatives(close to 7000, I think) is clearly unreasonable based on our current population, what do you think is a solution to the problem of one representtative standing for almost 700,000 constituents? Do we expand Congress, and if so, by how much? Imo, restricting the House to 435 seats was another kick in the mouth for limited-democratic republicanism as so fashioned originally.
I don't think it is. I think the more the better. Think of the grid-lock. Think of how hard it would be for lobbyists to buy off that many people. Think of how hard it would be for collusion.
