11/03/08: Due to technical reasons that are way beyond my comprehension, a portion of this post is missing and needs to be re-written.

The Constitution of the United States of America, Amendment I:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The evidence is clear.  The Democrat party FEARS FREE SPEECH!

Last month, I blogged about Democrats promoting a bill to limit free speech on radio.  FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell says this bill would easily provide government the power to regulate blogs.  In another post, I covered Barack Obama's attempt to use legal action to silence an opponent.

This time, Sheriffs and prosecutors have joined his crusade against free speech, vowing to bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels "false" criticism of Obama.  Yes, actually prosecuting someone for this is next to impossible, but ... just like the Obama camp successfully scared away donors of both Edwards and Clinton, this intimidation tactic is sure to scare off opponents of his in Missouri as well.

In light of this blatant attack on free speech, I'd like to join Gateway Pundit by also declaring "Sue me first!"
