So another Democrat has decided to "retire." Or in other words, cannot win reelection, so he's throwing in the towel.

Culture of Corruption casualty: Chris Dodd bows out; CT AG Blumenthal to run

During the Christmas break, corruptocrat Sen. Chris Dodd held a press conference hailing the Senate government health care takeover bill. But he couldn’t distract from the stink of his ethics scandals and his mounting unpopularity at home.

A prescient constituent heckled him during the press conference:

“You’re not gonna get re-elected,” the man said.

Today, Dodd will preempt the voters by removing himself from the running. He’s ending his re-election bid. I’d say good riddance, but Dodd will most likely move on to a lucrative lobbying career a la Beltway toe fungus Tom Daschle or perhaps into a position with the administration of Hope and Change.

Dodd retiring

Today, Chris Dodd will announce that he will also retire from the Senate, which Connecticut voters would have ensured anyway ...

But the real story about Senator Chris Dodd, is that he's one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington! Here's just a sample of his criminality.

Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington's "Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians" for 2009

Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT): This marks two years in a row for Senator Dodd, who made the 2008 “Ten Most Corrupt” list for his corrupt relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and for accepting preferential treatment and loan terms from Countrywide Financial, a scandal which still dogs him. In 2009, the scandals kept coming for the Connecticut Democrat. In 2009, Judicial Watch filed a Senate ethics complaint against Dodd for undervaluing a property he owns in Ireland on his Senate Financial Disclosure forms. Judicial Watch’s complaint forced Dodd to amend the forms. However, press reports suggest the property to this day remains undervalued. Judicial Watch also alleges in the complaint that Dodd obtained a sweetheart deal for the property in exchange for his assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon (during the Clinton administration) and other favors for a long-time friend and business associate. The false financial disclosure forms were part of the cover-up. Dodd remains the head the Senate Banking Committee.

What's the point in having laws at all, if people like Chris Dodd and the rest of our Washington Overlords don't have to follow them? Anyone reading this post would have been prosecuted for these corrupt activities, and then prosecuted again on trumped up charges (invented by some attorney general).

Chris Dodd is a crook. If there was justice in the world, he'd rot in jail for the rest of his life.

It's unbelievable that guys like Dodd can wallow in corruption, vote in favor of the most onerous legislation ever. Then, when it looks like he is going to get booted out of office, he takes his ball and goes home.

    What a weasel!

I say we waterboard them. Nah. An iron maiden would be more appropriate.
