Lies, lies, lies ... the Government's Never-Ending Lies.
Global warming, climate change, settled science, Warmaqquiddick, fraud, corruption, conspiracy, whatever you want to call it ... Global Warming is a Big Fat Lie!
Politicians lied about global warming and they're lying about health care too.
We Pay Them to Lie to Us
When you knowingly pay someone to lie to you, we call the deceiver an illusionist or a magician. When you unwittingly pay someone to do the same thing, I call him a politician.
President Obama insists that health care "reform" not "add a dime" to the budget deficit, which daily grows to ever more frightening levels. So the House-passed bill and the one the Senate now deliberates both claim to cost less than $900 billion. Somehow "$900 billion over 10 years" has been decreed to be a magical figure that will not increase the deficit.
It's amazing how precise government gets when estimating the cost of 10 years of subsidized medical care. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's bill was scored not at $850 billion, but $849 billion. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said her bill would cost $871 billion.
How do they do that?
The key to magic is misdirection, fooling the audience into looking in the wrong direction.
I'm shocked. Shocked! I tell ya ...
Of course nothing will be as expected. This how the politicians play their game. They lie. So guess what? Health care is going to cost a lot more!
Obama’s Health Care Cost Could Top $6 Trillion
Congressional Democrats are using several budget gimmicks to disguise the cost of their health care overhaul, claiming the House and Senate bills would cost only (!) about $1 trillion over 10 years. Now that critics have begun to correct for those budget gimmicks, supporters of ObamaCare are firing back.
One gimmick makes the new entitlement spending appear smaller by not opening the spigot until late in the official 10-year budget window (2010–2019). Correcting for that gimmick in the Senate version, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) estimates, “When all this new spending occurs” — i.e., from 2014 through 2023 — “this bill will cost $2.5 trillion over that ten-year period.”
Another gimmick pushes much of the legislation’s costs off the federal budget and onto the private sector by requiring individuals and employers to purchase health insurance. When the bills force somebody to pay $10,000 to the government, the Congressional Budget Office treats that as a tax.
The Federal Reserve is nothing short of a legalized counterfeiting operation. It literally robs people of their life savings.
So at the very least, we deserve an Audit of the Federal Reserve. Don't ya think?
Bernanke, and the Rest of the Vampires, Need to Go
(h/t HillBuzz)
Bernanke, and the rest of the bloodsuckers, need to go.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said curbing the central bank’s authority to supervise the banking system and tampering with its independence would "seriously impair" economic stability in the U.S.
Because $12 Trillion in debt doesn't, you know, count.
And Heaven favor Ron Paul's economic efforts. Do read End the Fed, by the way.
Bernanke has presided over the most expansive use of Fed powers since the Great Depression ... lawmakers have voiced concern about taxpayer-sponsored bailouts and proposed the most sweeping dismantlement of Fed authority since the creation of the institution in 1913.
There are no good reasons that an honest broker fears an audit. If you're the Climate Research Unit or the Federal Reserve, there may be some other motives. One cannot fathom, in a purportedly free society, why we've allowed the Federal Reserve to live as long as it has, given the ruinous policies correlated with its existence.
The Federal Reserve Act was the kind of major change to the fabric of the country that should not have been brought in as mere legislation. Like Social Security, if we want this sort of vampire, we should have a Constitutional Amendment to bare the neck.
Bernanke: ‘Don’t Fire Me, Puh-leeze!’
And don’t let Ron Paul expose the corrupt secrets of the central bank and its trillions in payments to the “private” banksters. If you do, the earth will fall into the sun.
Big Government loves more Big Government too.
One minute it's Mao, the next minute it's Marx ... What's with all these communist infatuations?
Stalin Bust at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia
Although the debate has been raging for months, it has just come to my attention that the man responsible for the second-most number of murders ever – after Mao, of course, with Hitler a distant third – is to have his bust placed at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia.
Defenders of the Stalin bust argue that, whether we like it or not, our uneasy alliance with the Soviet Union during the war is a part of history and should be recognized. Furthermore, they say that his visage is in no way glorifying the man or his deeds.
This argument misses the point entirely.
But of course ... the State wishes to honor the State, so a bust of the State's greatest mass murderer, Stalin, only seems appropriate. That they want to place Stalin's bust at the D-Day Memorial though, should tell you all you need to know about what government (and its politicians) thinks of itself.
