Damn CL, you nailed it. Hit it right out of the park, in fact. The climate is changing. I believe, as you have point end out, that there are these "gatekeepers" in the party. But I would add that there is a more insidious thing about the party leadership. Every election cycle, they go around and basically blow smoke up our collected rectums that they are conservative and really will do what we want. Then, they get elected and forget we exist. They are our elites. They think they know best, so every now and again, they come around, pat us on our heads, and then go back to the unreality bubble to play games with the Dems. If they do that again, they won;t have to worry about purging us-we'll provide a direct lesson as to what happened to the Whigs.
The RNC does blow smoke up everybody's ass, and people are sick and tired of it. The Elites are done. It's over. Stick a fork in them. Why so many people continue to stick up for them is beyond me.
Is Beck perfect? Nope. Paul perfect? Nope. But I'll roll with those guys long before I'll roll with the mainstream smoke blowers. Conservatives don't send representatives to Washington to play bipartisan patty-cake and/or make progressive policies more "efficient."
They either start rolling back this government or they're outta there! And whether the Gate Keepers "Who Know Better" like it or not, they're playing yesterday's politics. It's over. Progressivism has taken our country to the brink, and Progressivism-lite isn't going to help.
The left is breaking up too .. things are going to get interesting. There are indeed historical times.
